I love eating here! The staff is SO friendly and my son loves that they remember him. The food is always delicious and the portion sizes leave leftovers for later. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because there is no changing table in either of the restrooms and I wish they had better tasting tea.

Some of the nicest staff! I also thoroughly enjoyed the sushi. It was fresh, unique and not loaded with rice. The menu had a good variety of food without being overwhelming with too many choices. I will definetly go back.

Came up to visit with my dad and had lunch here today. Decided to order gyoza as an appetizer. They were okay. Not very flavorful and the sauce was kind of bland. My dad got the lunch hibachi shrimp plate and I got the Bulgogi Rice bowl. My dad enjoyed his and it was a good size portion for lunch. The rice bowl was good. Bulgogi was tender. Lots of rice for which I wish there was more sauce because at the bottom even when mixed up a good portion of the rice was dry. Spoke to the waiter and he said they have been open for just around a year. My dad said he would come back. I would as well and try something else. They have a large selection.

Yummmmmm!!!! Best sushi in all of Western North Carolina! I’m normally never impressed with sushi places out here for obvious reasons considering we are nowhere near the coast. But this place was absolutely delightful! Cherry on top is at the staff was also so nice and seemed grateful to be working!

We arrived in Asheville after a 5-hour drive, checked into our Airbnb, and looked for a place to eat. This place had great reviews, though not that many yet. Looking at photos, they seemed new. I expect the ratings will stay high as they grow in number. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We both got hibachi meals - keep in mind you aren’t seated around a teppanyaki grill, but that was a plus for us. Our food arrived quickly as was cooked to order. The service was attentive but not obtrusive. The atmosphere was nicer than casual, but we didn’t feel out of place in our grubby travel clothes. Would be appropriate for a date night or family meal.

The best Japanese Hibachi I have had in a long time, maybe ever! Seasoned perfectly, generous portions, fresh, and tender. The staff was great! All the food that we saw coming out looked really good! We didn't try the sushi, but it looked delishious. We really look forward to returning! UPDATE: We've returned numerous times! Look at my picture of the Ribeye and Shrimp Hibachi lunch. Large, great tasting pieces of quality steak.

We have been to Sumo many times now, and have enjoyed each dish that we have gotten. The hibachi and noodle dishes are flavorful, and the sushi is fresh. The service can't be beat. Quality, big portions (see pic of leftovers) We'll be back! Try the sugar mamma (Thank me later!)
