This place has fallen from a monthly staple for our household to a business we won't be visiting again for the foreseeable future. We were happy to find an express Japanese restaurant with quality food when we first moved into the neighborhood and this was the best we'd found since living in Charlotte 10+ years ago. Through COVID they did a great job of keeping you served while having above average practices in place to keep you, your food, and their staff healthy. Because of that we relied on them during those, "I don't feel like cooking" nights through the pandemic. Since then there has been an overall diminishing quality of food, portion size continues to shrink, prices continue to rise, and sanitation scores fall. They no longer leave the condiments, napkins, fortune cookies, etc. out for you to take and now keep them behind the counter. Their takeout pickup process has slowed down considerably from what looks to be a lack of organization and their sanitation grade has fallen to a 91. I'm pretty sure ownership or management has changed at least once over the past few years and you can tell the negative impact it has had on the operations of the restaurant . I know we'll revisit again in the future but not before giving them several months to see if they can sort things back out.
This is usually my go to place for hibachi and sushi. Something changed. Spent $71 on disappointing food. I don't know if someone different was cooking but my steak resembles cheap steak and it was very chewy/looks disgusting. My Philadelphia rolls were very skimpy. Usually it's my favorite. I won't be

The prices on their website didn’t match what I was charged when I picked up my food. It was $10 more. My order also didn’t match what I ordered. I tried to explain this with the guy at the cash register, he smiled at me like he didn’t understand but I believe he did. The vegetables were overcooked and mushy. Quality and friendliness hasn’t been the same since changing ownership. I definitely won’t be back.

I haven't even gotten my food yet, but the guy that was taking my order was so rude. He walked away 4 times during the order. He didn't address me at all the whole time and another guy came to finish out the order cause he had just left without a word. And at one point he left while we were still talking to him. Like mid word he just walked off and went outside, came back in and started helping someone else in the middle of our transaction.
