Ay Caramba Mexican Grill & Bar

Typically I only leave negative reviews, this is one of the few restaurants that was so good that I felt like I needed to leave a review. The chicken was not only seasoned but marinated. The staff was not only friendly but I felt welcomed. Not another restaurant I will eat at next time I visit Asheville. If I could give it 6 stars. I would.

Consistently great food and service every single time I’ve been. Never had a bad experience and will continue to return.

Order here are taken very literally, if you order a grilled chicken burrito that's exactly what you'll get, a burrito with grilled chicken, nothing else.

Bad experience tonight. Ordered the steak and specifically asked for it rare. It came well fine like shoe leather. Tried to talk to the waitress about it and had no communication with her. The enchilada was absolutely raw. The tortilla wasn’t even cooked and hard as a rock. I asked for butter three times and never received it. Terrible food!

ay ay ay Caramba is all I have to say I was really excited to try a new Mexican place here in Asheville, but I was disappointed yet again If you followed my other reviews I reviewed taco boy and found that quite disappointing as we sat down, it found that the service was terrible and that they did not care anything about us. They thought of us as pest on the floor that they had to get rid of the food was cold, and I didn’t really find it any good I wouldn’t waste my time coming here thank you very much when we arrived, we sat down for 20 minutes and continue to watch as the service hung out in the back and didn’t even acknowledge our presence at the table. We decided to come and serve us to which they were very cold and distant and just seems like they didn’t want to be there. I myself have worked in the service industry and know that is no way to treat your customers so yes, we got our food and it was cold and not good and at the very end our server realized that tips are important way of life so she tried to be nicer to us, but I wasn’t having it because I’d sat there for 20 minutes watching them just stared at us in the back, not returning to this junkyard and dumpster fire. They call a restaurant.

Disappointed rice was blane no flavor bean dip tasted burnt. We thought itcwould became quality as Ay Carambra on Leicester hwy.

Visiting area from Texas, so we're always skeptical. But this place is pretty tasty. I love their Salsa Bar and the Bean Puree Dip w/ chips are a nice touch. You simply can gorge on those. I will say that I think they flatten their meat too thin which leaves it a bit dry (beef fajitas). But that may be just how they're made here. They were still good and fajitas for 2 is really like fajitas for 4...LOL. I love the mix of zucchini in it as well. I would definitely go back here. Oh and their Ay Caramba Margarita is a nice offering.

My wife and I had an amazing dinner at Ay Caramba Mexican Grill & Bar on Merrimon Ave. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming — you can feel the love the moment you walk in. She couldn’t stop talking about how perfectly made her enchiladas were — said they were the best she’s had in a long time! I went for the fajitas and a margarita, and everything was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The churros were also a real standout — crispy, warm, and just right. Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole place has an authentic charm that makes you feel at home. We’ll definitely be back — well done, Ay Caramba!

My girlfriend and I decided to try a new restaurant we have never tried and I had passed this restaurant while going to work one day. The atmosphere very nice and the service was phenomenal. My only complaint was my food (ACP) had crunch pieces of dried old rice. Every bite felt like I was eating a rock. The taste was amazing but difficult to eat the way I received it.
