We had a good brunch experience. The restaurant is beautiful and I loved the industrial look. We enjoyed reading about the history of the restaurant as well and were glad to support this local spot. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my husband had the steak and eggs. We also ordered a side of pancakes. The chicken and waffles were a great balance of sweet and savory. The chicken was delicious. The waffles were also good, though I tend to prefer a little more of a light, slightly crips waffle. These were a bit softer. My husband said the steak and eggs were okay. Not much to say about it. We also got a small side plate of pancakes which actually felt like a TON for the price we paid for them. I can't imaging what the regular sized plate looked like. The mascarpone and sweet topping on them gave them a bit more character than basic pancakes. I would visit this place again and maybe try the shrimp and grits next time.
Amazing brunch on our trip to Asheville. Highly recommend! We came early and they seated us anyway. The service was lovely and the food was delicious. Steak and eggs and chicken and waffles recommended for sure... and get a side of their delicious grits. Bloody Marys and mimosas were yummy. We will be back!!
We had a fantastic brunch! Our server was super nice and very attentive. We sat out in the beautiful patio. Food was beautifully presented, large portions and delicious. Highly recommend Benne!
Benne was absolutely amazing! The staff were all very courteous including Ricky and Cole who delivered excellent customer service. The ambiance and decor are all beautiful and I especially enjoyed seeing different plants all over. The coffee was great and the shrimp and grits were to die for.

Four of us went to brunch at Benne on Eagle. We had a reservation and we were seated right away. Our server was Bo, and he did a great job. Two of us had the mushroom toast with softly scrambled eggs, one had the avocado toast with eggs over easy and one had the chicken and waffles. Everybody was very pleased with the food. The coffee was good. If I had to make any negative comments, it would be that I thought there was too much salt in the food, but we never use any salt when cooking at home, so the salt content in the food was probably quite normal for most people. We all very much enjoyed the brunch and will definitely return.
The staff was very friendly and sociable, our server Catherine was super sweet and had some great recommendations for areas to check out while in Asheville, and the shrimp and grits were phenomenal. Hands down a memorable experience!

We’ve been several times since they opened. I enjoy dinner here more than I enjoy brunch. The brunch is good, but the service can be a little spotty.
However, dinner is always excellent (the service, the food, the cocktails). Dinner never disappoints, so Benne still deserves five stars, because the brunch food is very very good, and the dinner food is excellent, and most of the time we have superior service.
I enjoy the ethos of the restaurant as well, and the location and the atmosphere and the vibe and the people. When I have any sort of special occasion or friends in town, we head to Benne.

The BEST grits I've ever had in my entire life! They were creamy, perfectly seasoned, and warmed my soul. My husband doesn't even like grits but when he saw me going bananas over them he asked to try them. I told the chef how much I loved his grits and he kindly brought a second side of them so my husband could have his own. The pic here is of him abandoning his waffles (which he said were great) and smothering his chicken in grits. I can't wait to come back to Asheville just so we can have brunch here again!

WOW! I stopped here randomly on my last day in asheville they have an open kitchen concept and you can just see the way the chef put this together it was art. I've had a lot of shrimp and grits in my life and this by far beats them all!!!

Unfortunately, Benne did not live up to our hopes. Overall I would say the food was average with a standout item being the sweet potato waffles (amazing!) The most disappointing part however was our waitresses. It turns out the restaurant also supports the hotel in back. I am not sure if this mean the waitresses also deliver the room service food but our waitress disappeared at least twice for 10 mins or so. We had to ask another waitress for help right after our food was delivered.

We were very disappointed this morning. Service was very slow to respond. We have had great meals here before, but definitely noticed a decrease in quality. The brunch menu was lackluster and our server seemed overwhelmed and unable to properly attend to his tables. We noticed that the tables around us also seemed frustrated.
Sorry to report that we were disappointed, despite several recommendations to try this restaurant. I got the shrimp and grits, which was supposed to be one of their specialities, and I thought it was average at best. My husband's dish was also mediocre. Had really been looking forward to going here during our visit, so it was a real disappointment.
We had an excellent brunch here for Mother's Day. The shrimp and grits are phenomenal.
Beene on Eagle is an Asheville gem that is a dining must if you’re in the city!

As always, Benne was great! My husband and I had tried a few weeks ago for brunch and liked it so much that we came back yesterday with my son and family and again, it was amazing. The food is great, the service was great, the ambiance is so nice and the wait staff was so helpful and kind. We will be back over and over again!
