Had a wonderful experience at Chai Pani. I had the Buffett and the food was all so flavorful. Would recommend!

Atmosphere and Service is wayyy good. But little bit pricier compared to other indian restaurants from Atlanta itself and Quantity is way too less.

Will say this is corporate style and corporate quantity food for Hifi restaurant prices.

Little bit fusion Indian dishes with American touch where original taste and Spicyness is missing.

Kale pakora is worth trying. My favorite.

No more okra fries. Hi y’all well this is the new chai pani, if you knew and loved the old chai pani then know that this is NOT the same, you ARE more likely to get a seat BUT on current showing I doubt they’ll be winning any more James Beard awards, pleasant enough place but no longer special.

Visited this place today, they just started serving to the public.. it was a buffet with some items from the menu. Couple of items like kabab and chaat was good, everything else was just ok.. although the buffet cost was $17 which is great.

This restaurant is a gem for authentic Indian cuisine! The buffet may not have a vast variety, but every dish offered is carefully crafted, bursting with rich, traditional flavors, and absolutely delicious. The quality truly stands out, and you can taste the care in each bite. The service is impeccable—staff are warm, attentive, and make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a genuine taste of India with a memorable dining experience, this place is a must-visit!

Wonderful Indian food with a Western twist. My partner, who is not a foodie like I am, had a euphoric experience here while eating the uttapam. Their cocktails are really inventive and tasty, too!

Vegetarian options: Like most Indian restaurants, there is a wide variety of delicious vegetarian choices.

WAY TOO HYPED UP. This was probably the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant.

This is basically fast casual Indian food. Honestly made me rethink the entire James Beard thing overall.

We got here at 4:30 for a 5pm open. Spontaneously, the restaurant decided to open at 5:30 that day. So everyone had to wait an additional thirty minutes. People told us that if you are not in line before they open you may not be able to eat dinner. This couldn’t have been further from the truth. There were quite a few tables that people could just walk in for between 6:30-7:30. No waiting. Still not worth it though.

We got seated at 5:40 and the waitstaff pretty much wanted to take our order before we had seen the food & beverage menus. When we asked them to come back, it was another 1/2 hr before they even took our order. So, 4:30 arrival and dinner at 6:30 or later.

Food was fine, but Indian restaurants on the verge of going out of business in my hometown are considerably better. No joke.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place if it was on your list. Wasted time, wasted money.

Interesting Indian restaurant with authentic food and nice ambience. In my opinion a little bit overrated. My biggest complaint would be the portion size. I understand that this is the way it’s served in India. But paying $14 for a sloppy jai? You take away the bread buns and you are left with 2 spoons of “lamb hash” (didn’t taste any lamb… that is serious “no value for many”… My wife ordered the butter chicken for $21. She had a few side dishes that came along with the chicken. Again, not really value for money.
The best part of the meal was the chai hot tea. With free refills, that was OK. Our waitress was very attentive and very nice. On our second visit, we had a heavier set bearded guy as our waiter. He barely paid any attention to our table.
Overall, the quality of the food was good but no value for money.

If I were writing this after a meal from the original Asheville Chai Pani location, my reaction would have been much different. For example, what used to be a flavorful fish wrap with cabbage, sauces, and other tasteful additions, has become at the new location a sparse plate of bland tasteless fish chunks with a tiny cup of flavorless soggy vegetables. I added an order of naan, which was badly burnt and thus inedible. My wife was also entirely disappointed with her chili chicken dish, due to the same factors--absence of interesting flavor and lack of care in preparation. Chai Pani used to be one of our favorites--now, sadly, we would not return.
