This space is super convenient, both in location (close to a parking garage downtown) and size (lots of seating). Ordering is a breeze and you do it up at the counter. There's an ample selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks. The interior has a classic up-scale diner feel and the staff was super kind and helpful. We each tried a burger, I had mine with shoestring fries and my wife had the Mac and cheese. The sides were delicious and flavorful, the fries were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We were a bit disappointed in our burgers though; the bun is a really great, toasted, potato bun and it's prepared traditionally with pickles and onions, but the patty was super lacking in texture and flavor. It was very chewy, flat, and uniform. I probably wouldn't have noticed as much if I'd ordered it with extras like tomato and cheese. This does cost more, though. I think we'll be back, but we're both looking to try their chicken sandwich next time.

Grabbed some food to go. Okra fries are fantastic. Highly recommended. Also grabbed the meatloaf. Really solid. Mashed potatoes were creamy, sauce flowed well with the dish. My buddies got the catfish and the chicken sandwiches. Both seemed to thoroughly enjoy them. I'm definitely stoked to go back and sit down for a meal.

Lots of up charges and just ok food. Ordered continental hamburger which menu said included one side. However, I was told the side I picked had an added charge (though it clearly was one of the sides on the menu). When we went to pay there was an additional 4% added to bill for using a credit card. When my hamburger was served found the Patti to be small, hidden inside a large bun. My husband had the chicken sandwich, which he said was ok. Expect to pay more and get less.

Terrific spot on Biltmore Ave. We weren't in the mood for a brewery and had kids in tow. We just passed by The Continental and saw the menu and decided to check it out. So glad we did! The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was just superb. I had the meatloaf. So good. My wife got the chicken sandwich. Others at the table got the fries. Wow were they good!!! Will definitely be heading back to try the other specials and cocktails.

Great food and service! Went for brunch and liked the trendy vibe and fresh food. It's order at the counter, so also a great choice if you're looking for something on a time crunch.

If I had to summarize my deepest held religious views in a word, it would be: 'Cheeseburgers'. I've eaten way more than my life insurance provider would ever want to know. And this place, my friends, serves one of the finest classic American cheeseburgers I have ever eaten. Ever. Anywhere. Ever. And the fries are spot on. Top notch shoestring fries. Now, mind you, this burger, specifically the Continental, costs $14. And while folks in NYC and other big American metropolises are probably accustomed to shelling out more than a Jefferson for high-caliber all beef patty, I could see why many might balk at it. Fair enough. But I remind you that this is arguably one of the best burgers you can eat and definitely tastier than the last few restaurant steaks I've ordered. Just sayin. About the burger: Probably a third pound blend of beef cuts ground in house and grilled to perfection at medium - though mine was more medium rare so I'm not complaining. Then it comes served on a brioche bun, buttered and griddled so that it just wraps the juicy burger in an irresistible salty/succulent flavor. Topped with American cheese (my favorite) and a juicy ripe tomato (in November - how'd they do that?), onions, pickles, lettuce and a fantastic tomato and mayo based house dressing. This thing was a classic. Arguably a high-brow Big Mac but SO SO much better. It checked off all the boxes to Cheeseburger Nirvana. I ordered my burger with a side of mac n' cheese, which was perfectly executed. Not overly boiled and baked and dry like so many 'southern' versions of mac come, but nice and saucy and cheesy but not overly chalky or starchy. It was just a perfect house made rendition. My wife got the fries and they were a perfect rendition of lightly fried shoestring fries - salty and perfect for dipping in ketchup and stuffing in your mouth by the handful. So yummy. We didn't order drinks this time - maybe next trip. And there were a number of tempting dishes on the menu like the Blue Plate wagyu beef meatloaf (whaaaat!?) so I have to come back. Vegans note: They also have a vegan burger that is probably pretty amazing! Oh and a final note of detraction - my wife got the hot chicken sandwich and, while a nice flavorful sandwich, it simply implodes on impact with the mouth, making for a decent enough chicken sandwich with a side of spicy fried breading falling onto the table. I think the breading needs another round of reformulation to be thinner and to hold onto the chicken more. It was 'structurally unsound' to say the least and wasn't the best bite.

Awesome retro diner and old-school lounge throwback, but totally unpretentious and fun. Elevated comfort foods. Don Draper - and Betty - would approve. The Continental thickburger was one of the best burgers we've eaten anywhere. Griddled buttered brioche bun, ripe tomato, special sauce, American cheese, thinly sliced onions, good sandwich pickles, crispy leaf lettuce, and the kicker: a well-seasoned, perfectly juicy medium-rare 1/2" beef patty. More than the sum of its parts! The crispy skinny shoestring fries sprinkled generously with salt and pepper were off the hook! Mac n cheese topped with delicious toasted breadcrumbs was poppin' with an extra dash of salt tableside. Fried chicken sandwich "hot chickened" tasted legit but the breading was just too loose and thick and fell off while eating. It lacked a cohesive bite. This should be an easy enough fix, and we are super excited to return for the Reuben, okra fries, an incredible-looking brunch menu, $10 chicken sammy+beer Fridays, and scrumptious old-fashioned desserts! Great addition to the AVL dining scene. p.s. order at the back counter p.p.s. beer, wine, and cocktails
