We arrived late evening to our hotel in Asheville, NC and immediately began looking for a place to have dinner. Fortunately, Cowboy's Mexican Grill was a short walk in the shopping center next to the hotel. Their staff was very kind and friendly and the establishment was very clean. Mom loved her fajitas, my mouth is watering remembering the tostadas. Their salsa, chips, and guacamole were so delicious that I went back to get extras on another night during our visit.

Simply bad. Nothing redeemable. Went for the most simple dishes we could order after "tasting" the two salsa options. Both the chicken and beef taco salads were absolutely swimming in grease. Paid for a horrible tasting glass of tea and split!

This has got to be the WORST Mexican food I’ve EVER had! Our server was rude as heck and kept rushing us and the food was VERY bland! Will definitely not be coming back! That was a waste of $30

Beside's Colorado's infamous Casa Bonito (which was featured on South Park) this is hands down the absolute worst "Mexican" food I have ever had. It's not at all authentic, it's completely flavorless, and it's not even edible. The chicken tostada was boiled flavorless chicken and the ground beef tasted like it was soaked in excess salt and pepper. Authentic Mexican food should include cumin, fresh cilantro, queso fresco, etc. Every meal we ordered was a messy pile of boiled flavorless meat, a massive heap of iceberg lettuce (real Mexican food never uses iceberg lettuce,) sour cream, and a couple diced tomatoes. I couldn't even eat 1/8 of the two tostadas I ordered. Please. Spare yourself and go anywhere but here!!!

The molcajete came in a bowl/tripod that looked like lava rock. Wonderful presentation! The bowl was still hot when we left.

Inconsistent. The Cowboy Salad I had a month ago was fantastic: lots of tender chicken. The same dish this Monday was disappointing; much less chicken and stringy. I should have returned it, but kept hoping it would be better as I got into it. Not the case. Others in our party were pleased with their meals.

ordered through uber eats, had ordered bean dip and they gave me queso? tamales were just very bland and hard, no seasoning at all in the masa and the sauce on top was like red water.

I went for lunch with a group of 11 other people (seven of whom were Latin). We went on a Saturday afternoon around noon and were surprised that there weren't very busy. We noticed that there were mutliple spelling errors on the menu and they were out of several menu items. They did bring chips and salsa, but the salsa was very salty. Our server was pleasant, but not super attentive. Out of 12 orders, 3 orders came out wrong (ie: ground beef instead of shredded beef, chicken instead of shrimp, , two people were not brought the sauce that went with their tacos, one person was not brought the rice and beans that went with their order until after they were almost halfway done eating, and one person ordered a dish that was supposed or part of the item couple of orders came out wrong. The food looked very appetizing but the general consensus of the group was that most of the food tasted fairly bland and was not seasoned well. The two people who ordered taco salads said their taco shells had an odd fishy taste, as did one person who ordered tacos. The one item that several people did really like was the Mexican Street Corn.I ordered the Pina Loco which was grilled steak, chicken, and shrimp, with pineapple chunks, onions, peppers, tomatos and cheese served in a pineapple shell with rice and beans. It looked wonderful but I felt that it lacked seasoning and was quite bland. Also, despite the fact that the menu stated that it was supposed to come with it, there were no pineapple chunks, despite it being served in a pineapple. Interestingly, someone else who ordered a taco that came with pineapple, did get pineapple on their taco. When we finished, our group self-polled and each person rated the food on a scale of 1-10 (with one being the worst and 10 being the best). Scores ranged from 3 to 6 and nobody in the group said that they would come back again.

This place is an oasis from the down town fruity beer and starving artist, druggy scene. sometimes I just want a domestic draft and comfort food. The people who work there are freaks! No joke, they pulled out all the booths at the end of the evening and cleaned everything! Karen and I were amazed at the care these people had for the workplace. I hope they do well.
