Don't know what happened but something has changed. I don't know if the cook was trying to prove a point or they just don't know. We always order the same thing in hot. Our waitress was a very sweet girl and did everything she could to apologize. When you can bite a garlic clove and not taste it because the pepper spice is so overwhelming, there's something wrong. The spice heat was over the top and unacceptable for any spice-loving person. My wife and I both eat very spicy food and are well accustomed to heat from spice. The only thing I can suggest is that the cook must have overheard us. Tell the waitress that we liked hot. My wife was unable to eat it. It was all I could do to get it down. I ordered her an additional dinner with no spice in it and we took home the remainder of what she had originally ordered. I ate that on Saturday night so we would not be wasteful and it was so hot I could hardly get down.
Crab Du Jour you sure messed up cuz we usually bring guests with us.

Got bad oysters, said something to the manager and was rudely accused of just wanting a free meal. The oyster was literally green and tasted disgusting. Server was wonderful manager had a terrible attitude.

Went to Asheville for some shopping from the tri-cities area and decided to stop by Crab Du Jour to treat ourselves afterwards. We were there early for dinner so there weren't many folks in the place. Our server was wonderful and hooked us up with drinks and apps right away. The rangoons were bomb! We got a cajun boil with crab, scallops and shrimp and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked! No crab sticking to the shell, no chewy shrimp, no rubbery scallops like so many places overcooking it. The portions were on point as well. We ate and ate and still took home food!

My boyfriend decided to take me here since was curious about seafood boil. I will say, as someone who’s not huge on seafood, I really enjoyed the food! The sauces were so flavorful and the portions are large! They also offer other items on menu if you aren’t a fan of seafood. I recommend the chicken burger sliders & clam chowder! The portions are big enough for me to just have one of those as my meal! ? The servers are also super sweet and attentive! 10/10 Would come back again! :)

Polite waiters, Mine caught herself as she was about to be Rudd to me for a question I asked, however she realized I didn't know if they had regular sweet N sour sauce and so she took a second to answer me. But I caught her attitude before she changed it, lucky she did because I was simply asking a question of which maybe they had the sauce.
