Went there for my birthday. Kevin was my waiter, and he was fantastic. Explained everything on the menu and answered my questions. He suggested I have the italian onion soup, and it was the best ever.

I love this place - but they stopped serving lunch (BOO!)_ and didn't have the pizzas (our favorite) when we came (BOO!). I wish they had more moderately priced wines. BUT, the food is fabulous! Large portions and delicious! But it'll cost ya! $$$$

We had a birthday celebration for my mom tonight . The meal was delicious and the portions are enough for 2 people. Excellent service, our waiter was so patient and accommodating. Definitely will go back

Our evening at Modesto was lovely. my husband was pleased with their bourbon selection, as his favorite (Jefferson's Ocean) was available. My Kettle One dirty martini was perfect. For our salad, we shared the Local Lions Mane & Wood Fired Escarole, which was an absolute home run. As an appetizer, we shared the SC Shrimp & Mahi Mahi dumplings., which were not so much dumplings, but tasted more like Gefilte Fish with dough wrapped around it (one of the items we did not really enjoy). My husband ordered the Arctic Char as his entree and I ordered the Wild Mushroom Pasta. My husband commented that the Char was excellent and the squid ink risotto was “amazing”. My Wild Mushroom Pasta was incredible! We splurged and ordered the Crème Brûlée and Tiramisu. Unfortunately the Crème Brûlée was loose and runny. The Tiramisu was a dream. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely return.

highly suggest visiting this resturant especially if you're visiting from out of town. Our server kevin was prompt, knowledgeable, and eager to make sure the experience was top notch. could not recommend more.

It was our first time at Modesto, and it was excellent. The salads and entrees were inspired! We had a shrimp and chicken marinara entree and a vegetable lasagna entree. Jason provided outstanding service from start to finish. There is nothing I would change about our dinner experience at Modesto.

We remember Modesto pre Covid. Wonderful food, consistent, great pizza, moderately priced. Now over priced, food much too heavy, no pizza, drinks not tasteful. It's just not the same for residents. Perhaps tourists will sustain.

The food was incredible. Our server, Eli, was amazing. We had a really lovely time until right before we were about to leave the host came over and asked us to vacate our table for the next reservation. It was 1 hour and 39 minutes after our reservation. We were finishing up the bottle of wine we had ordered. There were lots of folk that had arrived before us that were still enjoying their evening. I really hate that our experience was dampened by being hurried away after such a wonderful (and expensive) meal.

Very small and tight The food was very good, but not incredible to justify the price My service was not good-the server brought me calamari, and when I told him that wasn't what I ordered, I had ordered the clams. He actually tried to argue with me and say that is what I ordered.. He then took it back disgruntled am grumbled that it would be a little while for the clams. That ruined the whole point of going to a nice dinner.

Best dinner I've had ever! Beet & goat cheese salad was perfect, as was the scallops entree with wild mushrooms. Pot au creme was fabulous end to a perfect meal. Highly recommend.

Sadly, one of the worst meals we've had. Seafood carbonara was nothing like a carbonara at all. Scampi pasta was very al dente and detracted from the dish. We had eaten there once before a year prior and it was great. We invited friends this time and were very disappointed, especially for that price point. Great atmosphere but we probably won't be back.

This place was absolutely lovely. The food was delicious, the cocktails were tasty, and our waiter was very nice and informative. The only downside about this place is that it is very small. The tables are quite close together, and the tables themselves are little, so it makes it tricky to have multiple drinks and plates on the table at one time.

One of the more disappointing meals we've had in a long time. Food was average across the board. Service was good but not outstanding for the amount of staff in such a small restaurant. We stayed with the caprese salad, focaccia and wagyu meatballs. The tomatoes were ice cold and tasteless but the oil and vinegar sauce was very tasty. The focaccia was greasy from being pan fried before service and the “wagyu”meatballs were small, dry and bland. My partner had the scampi which was oddly served with a tomato sauce which she said was bland as well. I had the filet medium rare which was unevenly cooked and lacked seasoning as well. The risotto and veggies it came with were ok hit and miss as well. Risotto tasted good but was gummy and of the three veggies (only two of which I could identify) one was very good and the other two were awful and did not work with the dish at all. Overall we were very disappointed especially for the prices which were more comparable to NYC than what I'd expect for western NC.

The food was exceptional and as a major carnivore I decided to change and go for the wild mushrooms entree. What a wonderful treat and large size portion. I indulged and ate it all. It's nice to have a chef that appreciates the ingredients and cook with love. Never missed the meat but the fish and meat looked great. Enjoy life!
