Pulp + Sprout Juice Bar and Vegan Cafe

My favorite in Asheville, but two wishes. For us WFPB dieters who aren’t allowed oil. 1) Make a few things without oil. 2) Desserts are way too sweet. Make with less added sugar and some with no added sugar. Updated from previous review on 2026-02-22

The food is amazing and fresh. We had the chickpeas salad sandwich and the red peppers soup. The service was great and love the decor of the restaurant.

Great quality, tasty food in an inviting setting. I love that it's all vegan. My wife and I had two lunch items also which I didn't photograph, but which were fantastic also.

I liked the place quite a bit, the food was alright, not outstanding but good. Servings were rather small for the prices. It was a bit loud in there, with the juicers/blenders running right next to the tables. Would still come back, there’s some nice products in the fridge for takeaway too.

I love this place - the food is great, the people are great, it's a cute spot, and I'm giving solid stars. However, I'm writing this because my sandwich the last few times was only about five bites worth of food. I don't know if this is intentional shrinkflation or if I've just gotten the small end of the bread roll, but I walked out of there hungry. Vegan food isn't that filling, so a vegan sandwich kind of needs a lot of substance to make up for the fact that it's all low-calorie vegetables. A $13, five-bite vegetable sandwich is not a good value, and it saddens me to say this because I love Pulp + Sprout and I want to support them and eat there all the time. But I won't if that is the serving size. This isn't expensive deli meat; y'all need to use larger bread slices and then be a bit more generous with the portions.

I had the Mushroom Banh Mi Sandwich & a warm Golden Mylk Beverage. I found the Banh Mi quite exceptional. I also liked the Golden Mylk -- though I must admit I can understand why some find it not as satisfying as they would have liked. It could be better, but I found it acceptable, nonetheless. We loved stopping in here for a brief lunch. It was such a clean, refreshing atmosphere and the mushroom banh mi and chickpea caesar sandwich were delicious. I would've gotten a juice but the price was too steep. Highly recommend stopping in!

This was a nice place to stop for lunch, but I do wish there was more protein in the sandwiches. Other than that, it was pretty good. The mushroom banh mi especially. The coffee did taste a bit sad though. Updated from previous review on 2025-11-10

I hate leaving reviews that are under five stars, but I really want this place to be better because the smoothies are so good. But the service… I’ve never felt more like a hated waste of space in the universe than when I am interacting with the staff of this place. And I’m a nice person who worked service industry jobs for a long time. I would love for the vibe to be better, even when I’m just picking up a to go order and needing very little from the staff. But until then, sorry that I came in and ordered stuff. My bad.
