Very busy for good reason. Delicious. Even though place was packed with lines, food was served fresh and fast and was very attentive to the table. Keep up the good work!

Wanted to find a place that we don’t have at home and happened upon 5 points. We had a little bit of a wait but it was Saturday & to be expected. Parking lot was a little jammed. My son loved the fluffy pancakes. I love that the home fries were not deep fried. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was hot and served quickly.

Got the Ribeye steak and eggs then came back a week.later and got the Bacon and eggs. Both meals were good, solid portion sizes. Very good and the place was packed both times so be prepared to wait. I ate at the counter and there was actually plenty of elbow room for me as I'm a bigger guy.

Dive Diner Divine

Growing up in New Jersey, I’ve always had an affinity for diners. Five Points Restaurant is Asheville’s version of the classic American diner. I use the word “dive” respectfully in the title to connote a no frills, casual place with good food and service, and a little attitude on the side.
Five Point’s regular crowd is a “melting pot” in north Asheville. There is more diversity on the corner of Broadway and Chestnut than probably all western, North Carolina! Starting with Polish and Greek owners who serve delicious Greek omelets, to the Hispanic cooks clinking and clanking in perfect unison from behind the busy lunch counter, to the handsome African American couples who slide into familiar booths while greeting friends seated along the counter, to Asheville’s next generation of eclectic youth, the restaurant is not fancy but for a hot meal and a welcome nod, it’s real.
Before my father passed away, I brought him to Asheville. I remember feeling so proud to walk him into Five Points Restaurant. We sat at a booth along the front window. The waitress came over with her little pad of paper and said, “What are you having?” My father ordered his usual black coffee, eggs, and dry toast. “Dad, what do you think about this place?” He just looked at me and smiled. There is something for everyone here. For me, Five Points Restaurant is a little slice of New Jersey and a lot of dive diner divine!

I woke up wanting a simple breakfast diner experience, so I checked Google Maps to see what was open. 5 Points it was!

I ordered 2 eggs with potatoes and a biscuit. I got my eggs scrambled and they were perfect. The biscuit was delicious and the potatoes were chunky, crispy, and well cooked. It was exactly what I wanted. Some places can't deliver this meal with excellence, but they did.

My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. It was a hearty serving and the gravy was cooked just right. It is a good, southern sausage gravy.

We only spent $23 before tip for 2 coffees and 2 satisfying meals. We'll definitely go back!

Found this place by driving by, and noticed the busy parking lot. Decided we needed to stop. Absolutely best choice! So many choices and now on our radar for every time we travel north!

If you’re tired of waiting in line for breakfast behind throngs of out-of-towners elbowing their way into the sometimes overhyped “latest and greatest,” check this place out. It doesn’t get any more local, any more authentic than 5 Points, where they’ve been welcoming 828ers since 1972. Grab a window booth or enjoy the artistry of the chefs from a front-row seat at the bar. No molecular gastronomy here, no 24K gold dust sprinkles. Just hearty, unpretentious, reasonably-priced eats that’ll fill your belly and put a smile on your face.

This place is incredible. It's an absolute dive and the food is amazing. Just be prepared to wait a bit since it is pretty small for the amount of traffic it gets. Well worth every penny though!
