French Broad Chocolate Factory & Cafe

Indulge in a little decadence! Their dark chocolate is divine and if you visit the factory on Riverside Drive, you'll be met with a heavenly scent wafting through the air. Ice - Great! Baked goods (cookies, brownies cakes) are all ooey, gooey heaven. I do wish the Riverside Drive location had all the baked options as downtown. For locals, it's far easier to deal with parking outside of downtown and if you provide us with those special cakes, they'll be purchased!! Chocolate chip cookies are my personal fave!

Very cute and delicious place that offers a wide variety of chocolate items. The bonbons and ice cream are all wonderfully marked with dietary notes like gluten free, vegan, and gluten sensitive (for ppl who aren’t quite celiac and can maybe survive some cross contamination). The staff was friendly and they offer tours (we did not take one).

Was craving something sweet and stumbled across this place. Didn’t get to take the tour as we got there during non-tour hours, but we did get to enjoy some of the chocolate and coffees. One thing I enjoyed was the salted caramel brownie that they made in House, which was nice and fudgy and not cakey. Enjoyed every bite.

Great experience, wonderful chocolates, terrific demonstration and narrator. This is a must visit, and bring home some delicious chocolate treats! The staff is hard working and so courteous. They make you feel like they know you. When providing my scrumptious chocolate drink, he gave me a big, bright smile and quick thumbs up. :))

They had a very large selection of ice cream and other dessert items. I chose a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The vanilla ice cream was amazing! The brownie was insanely rich, so you definitely need the scoop of ice cream to balance it. The brownie was a bit hard. I believe it would have been better and softer if they would have heated it before serving.

Came for a chocolate factory tour. It was an informative experience to learn how chocolate is made. you also get to taste chocolates as part of the tour.

Very much enjoyed visiting this location for the first time. I have had products at the Lounge downtown, but was impressed with the factory. You can see each step of the chocolate production process as it is happening with interpretive signage. Staff were friendly and helpful. Offerings include coffee, ice cream, baked goods, and of course chocolates! I selected a half dozen chocolates and a cookie. No regrets! Single stall restrooms with coat hooks! Plenty of free parking in private lot.

French Broad Chocolate Factory is a true gem for cocoa lovers! The quality of their chocolate is absolutely amazing, crafted with clear passion and expertise that shines through in every single bite. Even the mocha coffee and brownies are exceptional, delivering a rich, authentic chocolate taste that you just don't find anywhere else. I highly recommend visiting the French Broad Chocolate Factory & Cafe for an unforgettable treat!

This place makes excellent chocolate! Stopped in for a few Christmas presents & got the hot chocolate and a box of Holiday truffles — also picked up some chocolate candy bars, the Cafe Mocha Latte chocolate flavor is so good!
