I would usually give this place a 10 out of 10. Have been here many times and stood in line to enjoy the chocolate creme brulee and it was always wonderful.This evening I left a concert early and walked 10 minutes to arrive 10 minutes before they closed. I was told they were only doing to-go orders and I could not eat a creme brulee. Even though it was 10 minutes before they closed and the place was packed with people. Good customer service would have said "We close in 10 and if you can finish by then be our guest". I would have been happy to eat a creme brulee within 5 minutes and left before 10:00. Thanks

The quintessential cake was the most delicious chocolate cake I have ever had!!! My husband and I also tried their chocolate ice creams and were superb. We are from Florida and will definitely return next time we are traveling in that area.

I love being a large group of women on a girls trip bonding and exploring Asheville from FL. We decided to visit the French Broad because you know.. women and chocolate! Unfortunately as soon as the doors opened we were NOT greeted warmly. We’ve traveled to have a beautiful positive experience and the woman, maybe shop manager was rude, acted bothered, and was very snarky. Nine women bought tickets to have a great tour and experience and because of this one woman, I would not encourage anyone from my group of 550 women to visit here. Attitude is everything when you’re dealing with customers! Because we are an influencing group, we will share this experience, and hope that if you work in customer service you find kindness for others, you never know what you are dealing with (in our group, a lost pet, a mother just passed, family division, etc.) DO BETTER!!

Beautiful location right in the heart of Asheville downtown next to Pack Square park. Very charming look and feel and the service is efficient and friendly. A great place to get work done and socialize. Their hot chocolate was delicious!
This place is not recommended as the staff members are not very friendly and not properly trained on what the customer wants. This place doesn't have the proper ingredients to make best hot fudge sundaes. They were laughing at me when I left without placing an order. Skip this place and go somewhere else.

Way overpriced for things that are either remarkably bland or nauseatingly saccharine. Small selection of chocolate for a so-called chocolate lounge; you're better off going to any other downtown chocolatier. But the carrot cake is good.
