Food is OK, however, very pricey. However, the experience is quite lacking. Manager, Marissa was super rude and unhelpful and very, not friendly. We will not be going back and definitely would not recommend this to anyone we know.

We enjoyed delicious food and fine service at Golden Hour. Items from the wood fired grill at the front of the restaurant are a highlight. Really like the way they restored the historic building in the heart of the River Arts District. One of our top picks in Asheville.

I needed a few things last night - a couple of glasses of well thought out wines, Parker house rolls with a perfect butter paring, a flat iron steak cooked as perfect as perfect gets, and some of the best ever mashed potatoes. I sat at the bar and completed my mission. The folks serving up my experience were just right. Professional and friendly and genuinely interested in my experience. I live full time in Mexico. We moved there from Asheville and the truth is, the last great steak I had, was in the spring of 2024 at the Golden Hour. Consistency is in full play here.

Golden Hour is at three same time a place to celebrate everyday life as well as special occasions. The food is top notch, thoughtful and delightfully local. The staff is so sweet but not like a cloying perfume, like a warm hug. The ambience is as imagined, glowing. If you haven’t been to Golden Hour yet, now is the time. 5 stars! And I will be back again and again. Thank you!

We had an absolutely outstanding dinner here! First of all, the space is gorgeous. Our server, Jay, was just the right combination of attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was INCREDIBLE. We started with crab beignets, none of us had ever had anything like them and we hope they stay on the menu forever. I had the swordfish special and practically scraped my plate clean. My husband had the chicken - same. We sat with friends for quite a while, enjoying the view, as well as the drink menu and dessert. My father is coming to town next month and I’ve already made a reservation. The only negative of the night was the parking situation. It’s supposedly validated if you dine in. We were told one thing at the front desk when we entered, and that same person basically pretended she had no idea what we were talking about when the evening was over. We each ended up paying $15 for parking. Some clarity next time would be appreciated. But that has nothing to do with the amazing quality of the restaurant itself, absolutely recommend 10/10.
