Great Wall Restaurant

I need to preface my review a bit:

I lived in Fairview 7 years ago and this was my go to for Chinese at that time.
Since I’ve now returned, I was happy to find them still open and decided to give them a try
I got the teriyaki shrimp combo plate. It had great flavor, plentiful portions and the shrimp were not salad shrimp like I feared they would be. Big, plump, tasty shrimp. Lots of veggies as well. More than ample rice. The egg roll
That came with it was so good I wish I’d gotten two.
My only complaint is the lack of customer service. They just are not friendly. Perhaps a language barrier, but even a smile goes a long way.

We’re locals and prefer Great Wall as our go-to for excellent food prepared fresh. We always order by phone. Food is hot and ready for pick-up fast.

Parking: This is tucked away in a small shopping center across from Ingles. Parking is easy.

Recommended dishes: Pork Pan-Fried Dumplings, Sesame Chicken, Chicken and Shrimp Teriyaki

Got plain lomein, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, pork fried rice, annd egg rolls. The lo mein had nice flavor, not too oily or saucy. The Sweet-and-sour chicken was delicious. It had really good batter, the sauce actually tasted like pineapples and not corn syrup,, it wasn’t too oily, And the pieces of chicken are large. The sesame chicken was really good too. The only thing I would say is there was a lot of sauce so it could’ve spilled in my car. The pork fried rice was standard. Four stars because it’s all about the eggrolls. The eggrolls taste tasted previously frozen. Fresh handmade eggrolls are a game changer. All that said, I would order from them again.

Their food has always been great everytime I have gotten it. My family loves this place. We have given them our business for several years & never had complaints with how consistent our food has tasted and been cooked. Do not let the rude comments lead you astray.

We enjoy ordering takeout from this location, but our recent visit the pork tasted off and gave my fiance food poisoning, and after reading the comments it seems like this isn't the first time bad pork has been reported. Hopefully the problem can be acknowledged for future customers. Not sure if we will be back unfortunately.

The House Fried Rice was exceptionally dry. The peas were Exceptionally hard and not too many meat pieces for a house fried rice. Very disappointing.
The Egg Fu Young was good

This place NEEDS TO CLOSE!!! Owner is VERY RUDE---you feel like you are hated by her. Food is TERRIBLE, and DO NOT complain!

Great food, lady who runs it is super sweet. They are good at special orders and remember their regulars. Small and nice dine in but Great take out and fast. Alil pricey for take out but worth it and good serving sizes on most stuff

Came here on a holiday when nothing else was open so wasn’t expecting anything crazy. The food much like other reviews kind of says it all. It’s more of a basic get the job done scenario. The dumplings were way over battered and the pork fried rice needed quite often but if seasoning. The staff is friendly there isn’t a dine in option. The egg rolls though were tasty. Cheers!!

Personally I've not been disappointedMy food is always hot, the service is fast. There's a chair you can sit when you wait. The owners are always nice and prompt.

Great wall has a basic, boiler-plate menu to match the mediocre food and service.Fine in a pinch if you crave basic Chinese food, but as a local the other restaurants nearby have more appeal and reach a higher quality in both service and taste.

The food was ok, the pork and the noodles tasted old and doesn't taste good. Need more fresh ingredients, the scallops was chewy in Happy Family, some of the vegetables was not cooked fully. I was disappointed.
