I really love this bar and used to come here all the time. The vibe, the outdoor seating, and the taco truck were always great. But lately it’s become almost impossible to enjoy because of the parking situation.
They already have super limited parking, and now on weekends they host these pop-up markets with local vendors. I totally support small, independent businesses and love the idea in theory, but in practice it’s a nightmare. The vendors take up the entire parking lot, which means there’s nowhere for actual bar patrons to park. Even when the market ends in the afternoon, the vendors’ cars and tents are still there well into the evening, so it’s still impossible to find a spot.
I’m not sure if management has changed or what, but in my opinion it’s a terrible decision to allow this to happen. With limited parking, how do you expect your bartenders to even want to stay? Asheville is a small town and we like to see the same bartenders over and over, but if they aren’t making money because customers can’t even get in the door, they’re going to leave for somewhere else. I can get a beer anywhere in this town that I want- it’s the atmosphere and the bartender that make it worth going to.
The taco truck is awesome, but even that has added to the problem because a lot of people come just for tacos and end up taking up all the parking and even some of the seating meant for bar guests.
This used to be one of my favorite hangout spots, but now it’s such a logistical headache that I usually just skip it. I really feel bad for the staff too, because none of this is their fault. It’s just poor planning on management’s end and a frustrating setup for everyone else involved.
Laid back. Has vintage pay phone. Perfect.

extremely ruse bartender. she has dark hair. why work in customer service if your just rude and unkind
If you like dive bars, you'll like this spot. It was a lovely evening, so we hung outside on the picnic benches which had better ambience, imho. Great prices on drinks and cool bartenders.

Great space and wonderful customer service 😍🤩
Just people doing people stuff. That's the common vibe and it's refreshing
Fun Monday Open mic.
Hostile bar staff that is at best ignorant and at worst complicit. Don't recommend to women.

Need to try the food but excellent beer selection from light beers like Mountain Time Lager to Narragansett! Will do some more investigating but as of now I give this establishment the Lafferty stamp of approval! Aye!
