Hickory Tavern

We went yesterday for the first time. Had really great appetizers. Our bartender was so nice and attentive. There was a musician playing guitar that was really good. We enjoyed it. Great place to watch a game! Clean and good customer service.

I can't recommend Hickory Tavern enough, especially if you're looking for a late-night dinner.
The food was excellent. We ordered the appetizer platter, a burger, and chicken tenders. The highlights of the appetizer platter were the mozzarella sticks, queso, and marinara. The burger was one of the best I've ever had--two quarter-pound smash patties, excellent flavor, seasoning, and juiciness without being too greasy. It came with a generous helping of thick-cut fries that were seasoned well, slightly crisp on the outside, and fluffy on the inside.

We went for drinks and appetizers. Both were great. Our waitress, Tybra, was awesome, as well as a few other waitresses at the bar, all of them friendly and engaging. There was live entertainment at the bar area which made it kinda hard to hear if you sat in that area but they played/sang good songs to sing along with.

Our server was fantastic, but unfortunately, my fish and chips, one of the fish strips I couldn't even cut with a knife. The second one was half that way and the third was okay. I told the server when we were closer to getting ready to leave. And she said they would have replaced it, but I knew that would have delayed the whole group I was with.

We had a great experience at Hickory Tavern in Asheville. The manager, Autumn, was welcoming, attentive, and very professional. She checked on the table, made sure we had everything we needed, and created a friendly atmosphere. You can tell she truly cares about the guests and her team. Excellent service!

Don't miss this place!!! Wasn't planning on a burger(Diablo), but so glad I did. It was excellent! My FIL had the fish and chips and gave it high praises, hubs had a burger as well.
Our server Joe, gave us the best service I've had in a very long time. Can't wait for another visit.

It took out waiter a half hour to get drinks. We started to have to order a new drink when he brought our drink so we would have one. Not a lot of people here. Plenty of wait staff. Took 20 min just to pay our bill.

I have issues with wheat. Often it is easier to ask about gluten. When I asked our waitress if their was a gluten free menu or if she could tell me about the menu, she said everything was gluten free except the burgers which is abdolutely not true! She also did not ask about my allergy. So, she had not considered not only the gluten but cross contamination. This could be especially an issue for people with celiac disease.

They took away the vegi burgers which was a huge let down but the portobello sandwich was good. The mushroom was a little smaller than I liked and will see if they will double it up next time (for a little extra of course). Everything else I had was good
