This is definitely the best coffee shop in Asheville!! The coffee is phenomenal, I especially love the Weather Report specialty coffee (i think thats the name.) BUT: they tend to make it too sweet so get it with no sweetener and then add it in yourself.
Also the parking/seating situation is TERRIBLE!! I wish they would do something about that!

They charge $1 for coffee refills? Get the **** outta here with that stupid policy.
Cute little gem to get coffee. The only downfall for me was them not having almond milk. Regardless, my cappuccino was very tasty!

7$ for an extremely small breve is just too expensive.

I really liked it!!! And the atmosphere, and the coffee, and the people who work, there are many places for drinking coffee both in the main room with stylish wooden tables, and in the next room where you can work in silence or just relax, also on the street - this is perhaps my favorite place, and when flowers fall from the trees (August, September) very nice, reminds me of childhood!))))

The level of hospitality here is lacking. One individual, who I think was mentioned by another reviewer recently, was unwelcoming and made me feel as if I had done something wrong. If you’re not a morning person don’t work at a coffee shop. The management might allow this person’s inhospitable behavior for reasons we can only guess.

I have been coming to High Five for years. There is a lot to like.
They have an outdoor space, and although it faces busy Broadway, it’s nice to have that option on a sunny day.
They have an interesting coffee menu with lots of great seasonal specials.
Their tea selection is good, but I really wish they would bring back Yerba mate!
They give back to the community. This is a big reason that this review is five stars and not four stars, because I am really missing the yerba mate, but it is so important for our businesses to support our local nonprofits. They’ve supported some nonprofits that I have worked with before, and I’ve seen them recently support other local nonprofits. So I will continue to frequent High Five (even without a yerba mate option) because they are an excellent community partner!

They add cinnamon and spice to some of their specialty drinks and I am in love. Many coffee shops follow a similar ingredient pattern, High Five definitely adds a new and exciting twist. A true and daring gustatory exploration awaits you. One thing I really appreciate is that they hold back on the sugar. So even if you are health conscious, go for one of their local-honey-sweetened specialty coffees. You won't be disappointed and you can avoid the usual sugar crash. I got "The Weather Report" specialty coffee and it was a pleasant surprise: some spice, some sweetness, and a good amount of caffeine!
