We knew when we're in for something special when the patio had no more seating. We were immediately greeted by the most pleasant maitre'd and sat indoors around 12:45PM on a Friday. The space was very bright and open, and you could clearly see the kitchen and bar.
We were greeted promptly by our waitress Marisa, who walked through the entire menu; and was so kind and patient.
Without a doubt, this was one of the best lunches l've had in quite some time. I will make the drive to visit this restaurant again, I was too full for dessert so of course I have to return!!

Here’s my honest, friendly-but-serious take after dinner last night. Not at all worth $55 for two meals. We came in hopeful, and the team was kind and quick, but the food just didn’t deliver. Mediocre fried chicken squirted with aoili is not mochiko chicken. The cabbage we weren’t sure if it was cooked or not cooked. It may have been tossed with rice wine vinegar, but certainly not unique or even tasty. The mac salad had the same vinegar taste. How disappointing. What pushed this from “so-so” to “please improve” was the dessert case. We thought we might order a piece of cake for dessert, but the chocolate cake had a lid that was covered in fingerprints and white film. The tracks for the doors for this cake display were CAKED in flies and black filth. Obviously, had not been cleaned in weeks/months. For a place charging these prices, basic cleanliness and quality control are non-negotiable. Amazing that people pay this kind of money to eat bland food. Bright spot: the kitchen was speedy and the staff was pleasant—Two stars because the food came out promptly. With a tighter recipe execution (true mochiko, balanced sides) and immediate attention to sanitation (deep-clean that case and set a daily checklist), this could turn around. As it stands, Take your money elsewhere. Very disappointing.

Great food was had. We miss West Texas BBQ, the brisket here was spoon-tender. Great service, swift delivery, my water glass never ran dry. We will be back

Pretty good food, but definitely overpriced for what it is. Also got served raw chicken originally, but it was remade and was fine.

Our waiter Ren was amazing and knew the menu like the back of her hand. The staff we encountered all smiled and greeted/spoke to everyone around. My girlfriend had the brisket tacos and I had a double smash burger. Both were good and the barbecue sauce made my smash burger that much more tastier .

We were looking for good bbq in Asheville so we stopped in on Thursday night for dinner. So glad we did! Food was very delicious and plentiful. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the mahi tacos. The pulled pork was very tender & juicy! The mahi in the tacos was cooked to perfection and the slaw, avocado and cilantro added on top was such a good combination! We also ordered a side of the cornbread and it was scrumptious! The table sauces were so yummy we had to buy a bottle of each one. Our dining experience was made even better by our amazing server, MARISA!! She was so friendly and informative and even let us sample a small taste of the brisket for future reference. Brisket was also cooked to tender & juicy perfection! We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Hopefully we will have Marisa as our server again. She is definitely an asset to Huli Sue’s BBQ!

A great spot! The staff were very welcoming and always had a smile on their face! We had the BBQ combo platter and a very tasty French dip sandwich. There’s drinks were also pretty good and the overall decor of the restaurant was very cozy and made it feel like summer!
Something to note, there is an additional kitchen service fee that we didn’t mind but something to know.
