Visited this weekend, post Helene. Service and food were awesome, as always. The quartet was great to hear again and owner Annibell made it so very special. Visiting? Check these peeps out; you will be glad you did!

This place is really cool. An iconic, must visit pub in downtown Asheville. Plus live bluegrass every Thursday!

I was actually quite surprised at how excellent the food is. The Reuben is the best in town!

This place came up to review, and I can't believe I didn't review it sooner. One of our favorite places when visiting Asheville.
Maybe it came up so I can say how much all of Asheville has been on my mind after Helene's devastation.
All our love and best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. And our deepest condolences for all that has been lost. Hope to retirn and give you hugs in person.

We went several times during a recent 2 week stay in Asheville. Went for the awesome music but loved Jesse the bartender and the food/drinks were also very good. If you like bluegrass and old time music, it’s there frequently!

Love this place for music, food, camaraderie, Irish pub atmosphere and service. The drinks and beer are pretty good, too. We are regulars at the Saturday afternoon gigs with "Nobody's Darlins'" 4:00 to 6:00m and Irish jams on Sunday nights. My granddaughter loved practicing her Celtic dance steps with the jam band.

Hed a great time there watching the live bluegrass music. There's a mix of people from all walks of life enjoying themselves and having a great time. The most amazing part is that people actually socialize with each other, super friendly environment.

Parking: Parking in downtown Asheville isn't expensive, at least not on weekends.

Kid-friendliness: Definitely a 21 & over kind of place

As out of towners, we always stop in Jack of the Wood when visiting Asheville. Wednesday is bluegrass circle night. It doesn’t get any better than that. ?♥️

We've been here before and wanted to come again. Who knew this place was going to be as slammed on a Monday night, but it was. I'm thrilled they are getting great business.
I had the crab cake appetizer as an entrée and my husband had fish and chips. Mine came with an arugula salad with pickled onion. Delicious. The crab cake was moist and crabby. My husband gave me his coleslaw, and it was very good also. He said his fish and chips were also crisp and well cooked inside.
Now, Monday night is Trivia Night. If you want your brain stretched, this is the place for you. I didn't participate formally, but the two rounds I was there for were extremely challenging.
