Food was good and atmosphere was nice but we made reservations stating it was a special occasion and then got sat next to the POS machines. No acknowledgment that it was a major anniversary. There were other tables available so I’m disappointed we were given one of the worst. If you go then get the pan con tomate
I visited this establishment before the end of my Asheville trip. While the food, service, and atmosphere were all good, the reason for downgrading a star is because of perceived value of the food. I'm a smaller individual who ordered 3 small dishes and spent ~$50 yet did not leave feeling satiated. I can only imagine someone with a hearty appetite. I was also charged $2 for a suggested hot sauce to add a bit of "heat" to my gaspacho. Had I known I'd be charged...
I just spent a week in Spain, and I've been dying for tapas. Last night was my first time at La Bodega, and it was absolutely amazing. I shared several tapas with a friend and everything was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful with suggestions, the ambiance is great, and there's parking. 10/10 cannot wait to go back.
I highly recommend the staples: patatas brava, pan con tomate, sherried mushrooms with a poached egg, and the mac and cheese.
