Greeted at the door of this old school restaurant. Immediately hit with a hello and the fresh smell of chicken and bbq.
Recommend both, tasty and fresh. Typical menu for a classic q joint.
Sides are traditional and well made. Decent portions and free refills. Added a picture of the two piece meal.

USED TO BE a great place, cheap and tasty (ironic that they put their old menu on the wall) The food is not good I had a hot dog and the chili was like a meatball gobbed on and tasteless and the bun was stale and hard as a rock. The BBQ here is a joke of the locals because they don't even make it there anymore it's shipped in from somewhere. Nothing at all like what it used to be, MANY OTHER REALLY GOOD BBQ PLACES around way better than this, unless you want to pay over $10.00 for food that isn't that good, do a little research and find the real good BBQ and Hot Dog joints that don't rip you off. Drinks are a real rip off just to use an example of how they gouge you WATER IS FIFTY CENTS in a 15 cent Styrofoam cup!!!!! Lived in WNC for 50 years and they used to be great 30 years ago, but now a place for rich folk to waste there money. Nostalgia on the walls is nice.... stop in and see it just don't buy anything....BAD FOOD for WAY TOO much money. Sheetz has 100 percent better Hot Dogs, for half the price of there's. DO NOT FALL FOR THE FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS I warned you.

Was visiting friends in Asheville and we stopped here for a late lunch. spent the evening throwing up and with diarrhea.
1. Staff was handling food and putting it on my plate with bare hands. 2. Bathroom, lacked proper handwashing, facilities, soap, hot water, and towels 3. The place is filthy floor is likely haven’t been cleaned properly in years. 4. food was horrible. I would imagine you’d get better barbecue at a gas station In Minnesota. 5. North Carolina used to require and likely still does a health department grading certificate predominantly displayed upfront. I I looked and did not see one.
There’s a reason they have lost enough customer base to actually have to advertise on a billboard. Good established Institutions in small cities don’t need to advertise. These folks have been there for decades And the song goes, the thrill is gone
Asheville has some great barbecue places GO Anywhere Else!!

I have been eating at this restaurant since I first moved her in the fall of 1984..I love the food and I'm a very picky eater..The food is great and the people that work here are very nice..I will not eat at any Barbecue restaurant in Asheville except for little pigs..I'm not saying Asheville doesn't have great Barbecue at other restaurants.. I'm saying I hadn't found another barbecue restaurant that can compare to Little pigs..So when y'all are passing through Asheville or if y'all live here stop by little pigs and grab the best barbecue around
