Asheville is back! Just 6 months after the devastating Hurricane Helene winds, raging floods and overall nightmare, the city is ready for visitors! Yes, cleanup continues, and rebuilding the River Arts district and riverside parks will most likely take years, but so much is open, alive, and ready for tourism. Particularly nice is the Flat Iron Hotel, with suites in a creatively renovated office building in downtown. It's rooftop cafe has nearly 360° views of the entire city.
Great place to stay but be aware there is only street parking. Also bring your ear plugs because there's a lot of street noise.
Noisiest restaurant I have ever been in. 6's & 4's are seated across from tables in quiter coves. Waiter was brusk at first but warmed up & we couldn't have navigated the menu without his help. Cocktails were good, my $20 wine cost $61. Decor is reminiscent of Red Stagg, attractive. Food was not to everyone's liking; Pizza was the best. Won't be back!

What a treasure! Pristine rooms, amazing and kind service from the warm and friendly staff, walkability to all the downtown highlights, time warp perfection with the 1920s vibe … Will DEF be back.
This was our first visit to Luminosa, and as Chef House was always a favorite, we have been waiting for them to open for months. The food was world class (we just returned from three weeks in Provence, so this and other travels provide a basis for comparison) and the service was the best we can ever recall. Luminosa will be our restaurant of choice, and we will be back soon and go often. We thank all for a most memorable meal and dining experience.
The the food and the staff were outstanding. As always, this restaurant delivers. The atmosphere is so great. It tables are so comfortable and the people are super friendly. The food is always amazing and delivers the best flavors and interesting food.
Ordered the pork chop and it was 90% fat. They made another, but it was the same result. A few weeks earlier my wife ordered the steak along with a couple next to us and it was not very good. Instead they provided a pasta dish which was very good. I would still recommend this restaurant, but would not order the steak or pork chop. Stay with the pizza, pasta, or chicken.
Our second time here, and it's becoming a favorite when we are in Asheville. Everything from the bread plate to the house made pasta, to the tiramisu was flawless. Worth your time.
My husband & I stopped by for dinner and everything was wonderful! The food was amazing & very fresh!! Our server, Bella, was very attentive and sweet & made us feel right at home. We'll definitely go back.
Excellent service by knowledgeable staff great fresh food time to come out at the right period so that you got to enjoy and savor the enire meals. It's very good. We are making reservations to go back.

Unfortunately our 6:00 reservation was pushed back until 6:40 since we were waiting for the previous customers to leave. The staff was very apologetic and super kind about the whole situation. It was my Mom's 80th so the waiter was very generous. Not only did she receive a birthday card signed by the staff (she was touched), but she received a free dessert. Our waiter and all servers were fantastic. Also a special shout out to our bartender. While we waited for our table we had the pleasure of being served by the most pleasant and friendly young male bartender. He took great care of us and his drinks were spectacular.
Very nice start for a new restaurant. We had the charcuterie to start. The cheeses need to be elevated a little but the meats and pate were very good. Maybe crackers rather than bread so as not to fill up. The trout was outstanding with locally sourced fish. My agnolotti dish was a little undersized in my opinion but quite tasty. We shared a desert of the shortbread cake that was good but the peaches didn't appear to be grilled as advertised. Service was outstanding with multiple people covering our table to ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages. They have a downstairs speakeasy which is was a pleasant surprise. It doesn't appear to be advertised in the restaurant but I happened to notice it on their website. Drinks are a little high for AVL but they're creative and good in a nice vibe.
My friends and I went to celebrate a birthday and we were blown away with the attention to detail, service and food. We sampled three pastas, half chicken and two of the sides- all were excellent. Would highly recommend and would love to return again to try more of the delectable menu. 10/10!!
The service was absolutely incredible. We dined with our two kids, 11 & 13, for a birthday dinner and the staff treated them with such dignity. We decided to eat family style and shared a variety of small plates, pasta, meats and sides and everything the dishes were creative, delicious, and thoughtful. Thanks to Jamie & Dimitri for serving us so well. We can't wait to return.
I had a fantastic experience having brunch ay Luminosa! We were celebrating a birthday and the staff made my guests feel so special. The service was top notch. The food and drinks were delicious. We started with the pastry basket. The pizza was perfectly cooked and the dough was delicious. My friends enjoyed the quiche and BBLT. I enjoyed my dining experience so much I've already planned to return for dinner. Highly recommend, especially for special occasions!
