The cardamom morning bun is life changing. Do yourself a favor and get some pastries from this wonderful neighborhood joint owned by a badass Female entrepreneur.

Got a latte and a couple of pastries to go today (cruffin w/pastry cream & a pecan sticky bun). I was super impressed with both, but I will go back for the cruffin for sure!

Stopped by for the first time today to pick up some savory breakfast treats. The ham and cheese croissant and savory danish were outstanding! Grateful to have a bakery back up and running in the neighborhood and look forward to coming back!

Amazing! We’re so lucky to have this in North Asheville. Come early for the best selection because some of the most popular items go quickly. Top-notch quality with a wide variety of buns (cinnamon, sticky-bun style, etc.), croissants, muffins, loaves and cookies.

This is in the former Geraldine’s Bakery space, but the layout is updated with lots of comfy seating to stay and chat with coffee and your baked good of choice.

Easy parking in the lot, and a full selection of espresso drinks. Service is outstanding, and the owner is so kind and welcoming.

Let me tell you - I’ve eaten morning buns across the country - if it’s on the menu, I get it. Mattie’s was insane! Warm out of the oven, perfectly flakey and delish with I think orange marmalade on the inside. Absolutely divine. And then I tried the cruffin. Forget about it - best thing ever with the miso Carmel pastry cream. My new fav bake shop.

Let's issue an "Asheville Welcome" to Mattie at Mattie Lou's Bakery (formerly Geraldine's) On our walk today we dropped in for some coffee and treats about 11 a.m. We barely made it truly.. It seems Asheville residents en masse were already storming the doors all seeking confections @ 7:30 a.m. before her 8 a.m. opening We were nearly left in the dust- save a glorious brownie, a better than anyone has a right to expect Chocolate Chip Cookie and an Oatmeal Cookie to round it all out. Last, but not least, a Swedish Butter cookie with maybe brown sugar glaze cookie kindly offered by Mattie for a taste was a "thing apart." I had my eye on a seasonal cake regretfully chosen by the woman ahead of me in line. No worries, it will prove my excuse to return. Mattie's goodies are delectable and she is a lovely person who will fit right in with Asheville. Welcome Mattie and we look forward to our return. Bake on Mattie and prosper.

Parking: Easy. Right in front.
