My favorite Japanese restaurant in Asheville. Everything on the menu is delicious but if want something SUPER delicious order the Yakiniku... you won't regret it!

Visited the restaurant two days ago. First impression is slight disappointment because it has a good ratings. The restaurant needs a revamp. Food was ok. Philadelphia roll wasn't has cucumber or avocado. I believe next time I will choose another place for suchi.

We used to come here every time we were in Asheville. Then Covid hit. When we went recently, nobody was in the parking lot. And nobody was in the restaurant. I really hope they are doing ok. Yes, the building is old, but other than that, I can’t see a reason why it would be empty. The food was hot and fresh, and of good quality. There wasn’t sushi tonight, which was sad, but with only one cook and one waiter, I can understand. 3 single people wandered in and ate as we were there. The owner was there. We recognized him. It is a little pricey ($17.99 for chicken teriyaki). They always had better lunch prices.

Yeah, so they've lost something since our last dine-in visit two years ago. Carrots were soft, rice was overcooked a little and the salmon was not very tasty. I was with my wife and two sons who are in the cooking business so I'm getting my information through them.

Came in to have hibachi with my son and we were turned away at the door and refused service. Wish there was a way I could get the gas back they shouldn't advertise for hibachi if they only have one chef ?

This place food was the worst. Vegetables were not grilled and carrots seen like they came out of a can. The chicken was overcooked and smothered in teriyaki sauce and The shrimp was less than a quarter inch in size and tasteless. Service was good.

My credit card was charged a different price (inflated) to what I signed for. The restaurant added fraudulent fees to the bill. Obviously I will dispute the charge with my credit card issuer but this is incredibly annoying and offensive - especially when I left a very generous cash tip for below-average service and awful food.

I dined at this mediocre restaurant and left a generous cash tip with the server because we ate there on Christmas Day. Imagine my surprise then to see she added herself a $200 tip to my credit card after we left. I am fuming and will of course dispute the charge with my credit card issuer. But this behavior says everything, quite frankly - this restaurant is a fraud.
Before I begin, I'll share with you that I looked at the reviews only after eating there. Immediately after getting seated there was an odor that I smelled that made me feel like I was in the men's bathroom. After ordering and receiving our drinks, soup and then the salad. It began to get so smoked up inside that it was overwhelming. Someone finally opened up an airway to relief the issue. Finally our main dish arrived, and I'll say this I was totally disappointed just at the presentation. The rice was wet/ not fried, the carrots would of made better mash than hibachi, shrimp was undercooked. I did feel that the issue was not with the waitress so I did tip the way I usually do. I read on their menu their Customs on tip sharing, however if I could of done so I would of only rewarded the waitress. I didn't visit the restroom while there, however I wonder just from the odor that I smelt upon being seated what the condition of them might of been. First impressions are lasting impressions.P.S. I could of had much better food for much less price, but most important to me is PRESENTATION

The beef fried rice was horrible. It was very dark in color and no vegetables except onions and and egg. It was very greasy taste horrible.

I ordered beef fried rice and it was so greasy and just not fresh. The only vegetables was onions and an egg. It was really brown as if they were trying to disguise the flavor.

I have to say this is one of my favorite restaurants to get the hibachi to go! With the amazing clear soup! I have always only ordered here hibachi before I got married, when me and my friends would hang out! The wait would be pretty quick and the hibachi was so delicious! Always felt like I should of ordered 2 menus:) Also the main boss here is so nice! He is a true gentleman! His smile always brightens up the room! I ate here one time inside and it was really nice! I like to order TO GO from here! Seems like it's always super quick
