Sushi was great, but ready 10 minutes late and the seaweed salad was frozen.

Mr. Sushi means quality, attention to detail, flavor mastery, consistency, and care for the customer. It's time to raise up the scene to the next level. It's time to get more for your money. It's true: one of the top sushi houses in the area is attached to a gas station. Hey, it's Asheville, that's how we roll.

I got shrimp pad Thai carry-out. It was awful! It didn't resemble pad Thai at all! There was virtually no sauce on the the noodles, so they were nearly flavorless and there were no bean spouts. I've had this dish from many different restaurants and this did NOT qualify as pad Thai by any stretch of the imagination!

Best sushi in Asheville. Nicest staff, too. Honestly? Don’t be put off (as I was at first) by the fact that it’s “gas station sushi.” It just happens to be at a gas station. That has NOTHING TO DO with the quality!

No thanks. Might as well go to Food Lion for sushi.

Strikingly, unexpectedly good for an unassuming location. But the service is very friendly, the portions are generous, and the fish feels fresh -- and served with touches you don't see everywhere, like good inari.

Real sushi chefs creating delicious works of art. The Golden Dragon roll was delicious.

I would give this place a hundred stars if I could. By far the best sushi I have ever had in my life. So I ordered the crunchy Texas roll and the shrimp tempura roll and I didn't realize they were on sale and they were 20% off. My order came to only $20 and of course I left the tip. The vibe of the employees is amazing and always has been. This evening though it was just at that point where I don't think really I will ever have sushi that tastes like this again besides this place. Do not pass it up, go enjoy yourself because let me tell you you will not be let down. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly and just making it a welcoming environment ❤️

While visiting Asheville I searched for top rated sushi restaurants. Mr. Sushi was near the top of the list and I noticed reviews talking about how good the food was in a little place near the gas station. My wife and I wanted something more casual than the downtown sushi selections so we gave it a try.

The staff at Mr. Sushi were very kind and welcoming. We ordered sushi and two entrees - Pad Thai and Friwithice with shrimp.

Everything was fresh and well prepared...but severely lacked flavor. Any Sauces on the sushi was nearly flavorless. The shrimp on the fried rice was excellently cooked but the rest of the dish was bland. The Pad Thai with chicken tasted more like plain noodles with chicken. No flavor or spice on either dish.

We spied a bottle of Sriracha sauce at the sushi counter and asked for some. They confirmed we wanted Sriracha and warned us it was spicy. For us, Sriracha is pretty tame on the spice level so I wonder if the spice/flavor level matches the palate/preference of ther locals.

I say this and leave this review not in judgment but to let others know. The food at Mr. Sushi was very good in the sense of being prepared fresh but lacked any seasoning (except salt and black pepper). The sushi was definitely tasty and the price point is great.

Do not eat here if you want authentic ramen or sushi. The ramen smelled horrible and the pork belly was literally purple. The sushi was WARM, it shouldn't be. Please be safe out here. Go somewhere else.
