Consistently one of our favorite bakeries. The only thing better than the pastries and bread are the staff. I’m so glad they opened this location!

I’ve loved Owl (West) for a long time and their traditional baked goods and breads are amazing - they are 5 star. Had one of their cakes for the first time and was a little disappointed. It was good, not great, and quite small especially considering the price, I wouldn’t get one again. Their bakery item prices have also gotten pricey, though worth the price on occasion. People there are always really great.

Ordered a smattering of desserts while dancing to Celine Dion in unison with the counter attendants. Lovely place, delicious treats, and wonderful people!

Delicious, high quality, beautiful baked goods. And great coffee too!
I don’t need to review their bread, it’s the best in Asheville and everyone already knows that. This review is to tell you to park at Jettie Rae’s and walk 2 minutes instead of subjecting yourself to the OWL parking lot. They have an agreement with Jettie Rae’s where you will not be towed if you park there, so you can skip having to reverse into oncoming traffic on Charlotte Street!
Owl Bakery is a charming spot with an impressive selection of pastries. Definitely pricey; however, we tried a few items—the Danish with orange filling was bright and flavorful, perfectly balancing sweetness with a subtle citrus tang. The traditional croissant was buttery and flaky, with those delicate layers that just melt in your mouth. The walnut strudel was rich and nutty, with a satisfying texture that paired beautifully with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
The only downside was the coffee, which fell a bit short—either the beans or the barista skills could use an upgrade. Still, if pastries are your priority, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful bread and sweets. Their prices continue to rise but it's understandable given inflation/climate BUT $12 for a slice of cake that's put in a to go box? That's more than Village pricing in NYC - we were just there and hmmm, I'm guessing Manhattan rents are higher than WNC? Parking is always a challenge and service is slooooooooooooow

I live next door to The Owl, and had been carefully averting my eyes every time that I passed by since they opened. I knew that it was going to be big trouble. However, to my dismay, when I had family in from out of town they wanted to go, and I had to be a good host.
Just as I suspected, it was beautiful, wonderful service, and all of the pastries that I tried were heavenly. So I can hope that I have no more company in town.
I'm on my way over now to make sure that there's nothing in stock.
If you like good coffee or baked goods, try to resist. :)

Very nice and quite bakery. There is a parking lot, hits in case. I loved lavender latte. They sell bread and pastries. We dined in at around 1 pm and there wasn’t a big choice thought. Unfortunately got my chocolate croissant not warmed up :/ the rest is good. Thank you !
Stopped by for a few croissants and a slice of cake, everything was amazing and our family will definitely be back
