Tara is sooo kind and welcoming and the food here is like home cooking....if you live with a 5 star chef. The menu is creative and perfectly executed. Love Early Girl!!!!

No reservations but worth the wait. Actually didn't have to wait long. The hot honey chicken sandwich had quite a kick and a nice thick piece of chicken. The blue windows in the back room gave such a cheery feel.

Constance was attentive, and the food was delicious! I had the pork breakfast scramble, he had the strawberry and cream biscuit, we both were in the clean plate club. Will definitely come back when we next pass through Asheville!

Best thing-our waiter was excellent. Had eggs and bacon. Eggs good, but extra charge for 1 piece of bacon. Normally get charged for 2 pieces when I go places, but this place charged same amount for 1 charred piece. Like biscuits with with crispy crust. Best they could do was burn the top of biscuit. Too bad, since South Asheville needs good breakfast places.

Passing through on our way to Fayetteville and wanted a spot where we could all find something we liked, and wouldn't all be totally weighed down. In the hallway you can see all the magazines they've been written up in and I would concur. Something for everyone. I loved that you could order breakfast or lunch. We got: Bow to the king, pancakes, chicken bacon sandwich, spinach & potato pancakes, tofu scramble, and the southwestern omlette. Also a side of hot honey carrots and cinnamon apple slices. Loved the list of sides you could add to anything. The chicken - they do it right, so good! A nice light non-greasy coating. Everyone was happy with thier selection. The spinach potato pancakes was creamy and fluffy. The jam on the table was outstanding. I liked that nothing was overly sweet like many places you find in the south. Would def recommend the apples. Lots of seating in front and back of the restaurant. And both our server and what I presume to be the owner stopped by the table asking how it was and what they could do to make it better. I told him I'd give it 4 stars because I never (or very rarely give 5) so he wanted to know what would make me give it a five. Small things but would go back!

I honestly didn't know what to expect, but it was pure perfection! I enjoyed every bite! And my biscuit NEVER crumbled which is a huge compliment to the makers of it! Also, my husband isn't a big sweets guy but he thoroughly enjoyed his meal (bow to the King). We were originally going to split our meals with each other; however, after our first bites we thew that idea out the window. The inside is pretty cosy so it makes for a cute brunch date spot! And the service was amazing! We were seated right away without a reservation and were check in on frequently. 10/10 would recommend and go again!

This place made me sick a couple years ago but it's good now. A very nostalgic place for my family and I, I'd lobe to come back.

Plain and simple scrambled eggs, hand cut home fries and a biscuit. I didn't like the home fries. They just weren't flavorful. There was some homemade berry jam that was really good that I used on the biscuit. The eggs were light and fluffy. I'll return to try other items.

Regarding the Haywood road location After waiting for an hour for my meal, it was horrible. Really hard to screw up meatloaf and green beans yet they did so masterfully. Green beans were undercooked, meatloaf was bland and did not appear to be beef. Non existent customer service. None zero , nada. Over hyped, over priced and definitely not worth the experience. Not the Early Girl of old. Do yourself a favor and make a PB&J

Surprised to see NC sweetpotatoes in multiple dishes on their menu. What a great way to add such a healthy vegetable to your first meal of the day. The trademarked Yam Scram was AMAZING! @ncsweetpotatoes @vickfamilyfarms

My visit to Early Girl Eatery was disappointing and frustrating, to say the least. The dining experience was marred by a series of service mishaps that significantly impacted our overall satisfaction. To start, one of our party members was completely overlooked and not asked for their order--a basic aspect of service that was unfortunately missed. The issues didn't stop there. The food we received was incorrect, leading to confusion and disappointment. Even more surprising was the delay in receiving our drinks; they arrived after our meals, which is not what you'd expect from a reputable eatery. Additionally, the drinks we did receive were mixed up, adding to the already growing list of errors. Our attempts to rectify the situation were met with further delays. We had to ask multiple times for our checks, and when they finally arrived, they were incorrect. This resulted in an even longer wait as the staff scrambled to correct their mistakes. Overall, the experience was far from what we had hoped for. The series of service failures from not taking orders correctly, delivering wrong and delayed food and drinks, to mishandling our bills, made our visit to Early Girl Eatery a regrettable one. It's unfortunate to leave this review, but I hope it serves as constructive feedback for the restaurant to improve its service and ensure no other guests have to endure a similar experience.

So glad I listen to the locals. After stopping for some delicious coffee at Chaunie's coffee truck, I asked the barista where she would recommend I have brunch, since this was my first visit to Asheville. Without hesitation, she said, Early girl eatery, and was excited to tell me that they do flights of mimosas. I enjoyed a super delicious brunch, and everything was so perfect and homemade. I tried an apple cider mimosa, which was not too sweet. For breakfast, I ordered the vegan scramble with lots of veggies and tofu, added avocado, side of tomato gravy and subbed in a homemade biscuit. They serve the most delicious jam on the table. The biscuit was like a cloud! I wish I would've taken an order to go. When I also love about this place is the commitment to their employees which you can read about on their website. They really care about their team and the community. What a wonderful business to support.

The food was delicious and the service was great! I wasn't a huge fan of the gluten free toast. It was a little hard and crunchy. But it that's the way you prefer your toast you may like it

Delicious Sunday brunch! I came around 10am and there was 1 seat left at the small bar in the back (sits maybe 4 or 5 people) so I grabbed that and didn't have to wait. They have a robust morning beverage menu (classic bloody mary and mimosas as well as some tempting craft offerings). I was feeling adventurous and tried the apple cider mimosa and it was delicious. Along with traditional breakfast offerings (eggs your way, omelets, pancakes) they had some specialty dishes. The patron to my right ordered the porky breakfast bowl, and when I saw that come out, I knew I had to get it as well. I ordered mine with eggs over easy. It was a generous portion and the meat was so tender and juicy. Once I dug in and the yolk spilled out over everything, I was in brunch heaven!

Any trip to Asheville for us includes at least one breakfast at Early Girl Eatery. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and they do not disappoint. Awesome choices and ample serving sizes.
