I had been a patient at Mission Hospital for three days. They brought me in my Easter Dinner and I cried. The pork steak was sour. Nothing they had brought me was edible. I truly sat there crying and my nurse came in and I told her I was starving. She sniffed my food and made a face. She told me then, "you know you can order out for delivery". Then she said that when she was a patient there that she ordered out for all meals. I chose PIE:ZAA and ordered a slice of sausage. It was so good. When the nurse brought it to me she said "Good Choice." My stomach was smaller after not eating for three days but I almost killed that giant piece of pizza. It was a good amount and since I've gotten home I wish they delivered up on Rock Knob! I will go out of my way to go there when I am in town and will recommend everyone who will listen :)

The "hype" is real. In order to be remembered , you have to be special AND they are! Nobody gives a bigger slice. Nobody puts more ingredients on a slice. A thin slice pizza , with plenty of cheese and the underside cooked just right. One slice will satisfy the biggest eater .

Awesome pizza! Some of the best NY style pizza I've ever had. Best in WNC. Slices are enormous and we'll worth the price. Friendly staff with a cool funky vibe. Will definitely be back.

The pizza here is giant, and I mean GIANT! It's a very fun spot to try out. The slices are delicious to boot, though a bit greasy. I couldn't even finish mine! It was ready quickly as well. The ranch was just okay, I probably could have passed on that. Overall very worth it though!

Huge slices of pizza! I tried the cheese pizza, it wasn't oily and the sauce was good. The staff was friendly and the pizza was not overly priced.

Found this as we were craving pizza for lunch today. Definitely a nice pizza, and as others have mentioned, the slices are just huge. The $7/slice price seems a bit on the high side, but not totally unreasonable given the size of the slice. The crust is super thin and the toppings aren't piled on; slices were cooked to perfection. One of us ordered the garden slice, the other the munch madness. Ingredients were fresh and flavorful; sauce and cheese was a bit skimpier than I usually prefer, but more of both those ingredients would have made this even more difficult to eat. (The pizza is served spread across two paper plates--no utensils--a bit awkward to try to pick up and eat until you get it to the point where you can fold it in half.) Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. Around 2pm, no nearby street parking so had to pay to park. Next time I'm in Asheville, I would probably make some effort to find another pizza place with a different style, but I wouldn't be disappointed to come back here.

Great little spot downtown. Quick and friendly service, the staff seemed to enjoy their jobs. Stop in and grab a beer and a slice of pizza. Or order one to go (if you can fit a whole one in your car) Get the zip sauce!

Guys you need this pizza. The dudes working here are great too. They literally had Bob Ross playing on a TV in the kitchen that the whole restaurant could see. If that doesn't give you the vibes of this place, I'm not sure what will. The sizes are HUGE - a single slice is more than enough for one person, but then you can get a kitchen table-sized pizza. Like, I wish I had enough friends to share that with. I would advocate that every town needs a pizza joint like this, and PIE.ZAA really has this down. Honestly, round of applause for these guys.

Definitely reminiscent of NYC pizza! Also, the serving size?!? HOLY COW!! If you are a sweets person I recommend getting their cookies as well! (Not pictured) but absolutely amazing and on the larger scale as well!

Delicious pizza, amazing cookies, and the people who work there always seem to be in a good mood.

OH. MY. GOOODDNEESS!! Delicious is all I have to say. Very fast and efficient service, so don't get discouraged by the small venue, they get you in and out fast! Went on pi day (3/14) and they were offering slices of cheese pizza for $3.14, which is almost 1/2 off their original pricing. The staff is so friendly, and I love the open kitchen concept as you can see all the cooks laughing and enjoying their work. The pieces are huge! The crust is a delicious, thin, flaky texture and the topping are fresh and delicious. Couldn't travel all this way and not try the cookies too, so amazing and crispy yet soft in the middle. Such an awesome pizza place, they know what they're doing.

I was home for the weekend, and we were looking for something to eat latenight (sorta). Found this hidden treasure. It was just enough. I loved it because you are able to buy a slice and that's all we wanted.

The pizza was excellent! It was warmed up super fast. The price point was ideal. The restaurant is cute, but the seats were a little uncomfortable.

Slices are big, but expensive and over-hyped like just about everything else in Asheville. The taste is mediocre and I suffered with stomach issues for 18+ hours afterwards. I know Asheville is expensive and this is not a chain restaurant, but I can't justify spending nearly $7.50 after taxes for a slice of pizza that isn't even that good, and that isn't even including a tip. To put it into perspective, that's an hour of work for a minimum wage worker.
