We absolutely love this place. We always visit them whenever we are in Asheville. We recommend sitting at the counter. The counter will allow you to be entertained by the staff. We hung out with Derek this time. He is an amazing chef. There's nothing like watching an artist at work.

This is the best restaurant I've ever been to, including non-vegan restaurants. I think about the brownie Sundae every week, and I don't even live near Asheville.

I've been fortunate to have been eating at Plant every few years since they opened. I would probably eat there every week, but I live in Denver so I must wait and anticipate my visits until I return to Asheville. It's easily one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the world ( I travel frequently so I don't make this comment lightly.) I've never had anything but incredible meals there, and some dishes, I still talk about nearly a decade later (Lobster mushrooms, I love you. Come back.) I hadn't been there since before the pandemic because you know... But I finally returned last night, and it was as delicious as ever. I'm only in Asheville a few days this visit, but I'm eating there two of three nights because it's that good. The service is also spectacular, and the tiny dining room is charming too. (Although I must admit that I don't like that as a single diner I must always sit at the counter. Every once in awhile is fine, but every time is a bit annoying because I used to own and work in restaurants, and it's a little stressful for me to have to watch the kitchen. I have industry PTSD. I can't even watch The Bear. I made it through like 14 minutes, and I had to stop. I understand the space is limited, but help me out, please. Alas, the world is made for couples, and it's likely my fault that I'm unlikable/alone.)If you are a vegan, this is a must eat joint in North America. Thank you for all the lovely memories, Plant. I look forward to many more.Edit: I just finished another visit, and I'm so upset that it's over again. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend. It didn't help that they had read my review, and they were very nice to me. I actually broke down in tears in the parking lot because I was so sad to leave (I was an English major--we have a lot of issues.) I love you, Plant people, and I can't wait to see you all again.

I was in Asheville for a couple of days and after my first nights dinner at Plant, I knew I had to make a reservation for the very next night. Here’s a breakdown of the dishes I had:StartersCauliflower: incredible cauliflower dish in a creamy tahini sauce.Grilled Beets: delicious baked, then grilled beats accompanied by a horseradish mayo that pairs beautifully. This dish pairs very well with the cauliflower.BBQ Brussels Tostadas: the only thing at Plant I wouldn’t really recommend. Though there were some interesting flavors, it was hard to eat served on large tortilla chips, making it hard to get a combination of flavors at once.Ravioli: a starter that can be served as a main dish. The flavors are absolutely incredible with a complex sauce that I loved.Cheese Plate: delicious assortment of their own fermented cheeses and bread, served with an assortment of fruits and veggies. A definite recommend for cheese lovers.MainsCrusted Seitan Marsala: another delicious dish with an amazing balance of flavors and a nice tender seitan. The Curry: a nicely balanced and interesting take on green curry. I enjoyed it, particularly their unique take on the rice portion featuring a risotto-type rice ball. Overall I still prefer the more traditional take on green curries I’ve had in South East Asia, but appreciate their unique approach.DessertPeanut Butter Cheesecake: a delicious take on a cheesecake with the peanut butter flavor pairing beautifully with the soy-based filling.Brownie: a crispy yet chewy brownie topped with their special maple ice cream. Both are phenomenal.Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place more! A must visit!

I recently visited the plant for dinner and wow what an experience! Everything we ordered from the menu was fantastic. The mushroom ravioli was exceptional, definitely coming back for more. The curry bowl was amazing too! We also tried the peanut butter cheesecake and the cardamom creme brulee. One of the best creme brulees I have had!

We had a fantastic meal at Plant. This was our thrid time and somehow they are getting better and better. The food was the star, of course, but the service was wonderful and the vibe was just perfect for a relaxing time with friends. Cannot wait to go again!

We are from out of town, but come down to see friends and Plant is the only 100% mandatory stop we make every time. Food and service are always amazing.

Excellent meal. I understand why they are nominated for a James Beard award. Please do not let this restaurant being vegan scare you. I am not vegan and would go back all the time if I lived in Asheville. I could live off the ravioli dish and the almond ricotta!
