Great food, wonderful sauces and appetizers. Thoughtful, comprehensive wine list. Good service and consistently one of the better dining options around Asheville.
We usually love eating at Red Stag, but this time was a bit disappointing. Firstly, they have increased their prices quite a bit since reopening post-Helene. My meal was good, but my husband's entree was very bland, and the Chilean sea bass tasted strong. He should have sent it back and ordered something else. We will go back because I like the ambience, and other items on the menu are great.
Great food, well prepared, well delivered. Staff was attentive and not overpowering. A real treat with appropriate pricing. Enjoy!
We are locals that hit the bar at the Red Stag 1X per month. This time was a staycation for an evening -- anniversary. They remember that point from the reservation and gave us exceptional attention. The scallops were 100% as was the Duck -- perfectly prepared. Portion size good and not excessive. Great spot.
Wonderful ambiance, great old fashioned for two. Ribeye was cooked perfect and the Brussels were delicious. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience. Our server was fantastic. Very attentive and responsive to any questions. Food was perfectly cooked.
Beautiful space, very quiet and romantic. The Hunter's Board was wonderful...especially the wild boar salami and mustard. Truly fine dirty martini. The duck breast and elk loin were fabulous! But the collard greens with Benton's bacon were out of sight!! This is a special treat kind of establishment and expect to spend around $100 per person but it is absolutely delicious and worth the price.
Cool vibe, great food and excellent service! Highly recommended. The bison and scallops were amazing! Brandon was our server and he was to notch!
The crab cakes were amazing. The steak I got was delicious. Their sauces must be tried with the meats.
Red Stag Grill at Grand Bohemian Lodge Asheville was spectacular! Would love to visit there again!

Our server Lily was excellent. She handled things very well and was accommodating and wanted to make sure we had a great dining experience!!
We arrived at 7:20 and was told our table(7) was not ready. We stepped aside to allow others in line to check in but was confused that people without reservations were being seated. When we addressed it the hostess said because our table was not ready but we hadn't ask for table 7. The food took over an hour and the waitress offered us free deserts but the meat was horrible ( vegetables and appetizers were good to be fair). The table next to us got up a left before they got their dinner after waiting over an hour. The pork chop and steak was so tough we told the waitress the food was hot and to bring a check. We paid and left.
We had a wonderful first visit. Everything was beautiful and clean. Our server, Andrea, was incredible and very helpful.
Excellent service and the food was amazing. I had the chilean sea bass. I highly recommend a visit.
Definitely worth the ambiance. We celebrated our anniversary. I had a hard time finding a dish to eat. Adding a chicken dish and larger dinner salad with protein options would be great additions to the menu. Appetizers and side salad options are great. My husband had sea bass, amazing taste and cooked perfectly. He did not care for the cold cauliflower puree, he wished it was hot. Scallop dish was just ok. The scallops were good but the greens needed more flavor, they were too earthy tasting for me. Wine options amazing. Service amazing. Very cool decor. Wish we had a more romantic table by the window, but I could have asked for that. I would go again.
