I was a little disappointed because I did not realize this was a hotel restaurant... so there's a lack of ambiance. The menu doesn't match what's online but that's not a huge deal. However, the food and drinks were good and the service was great!
We ordered the Seared Tuna special which was superb. The side salad was well crafted and crisp-colorful and very interesting. The house made Lemon vinaigrette was lovely. We could not order dessert because we were so satisfied with the Entree! It was also very pleasant not to have to raised our voices to be heard. The restaurant was full but NOT noisy. Delightful!
We booked this place based on reviews from TripAdvisor and OpenTable. It was easy to make a reservation. It was fairly busy. The staff was excellent. The food was plentiful. I know they tried the broken yolk sandwich, the biscuits and gravy, the pancakes, some omelettes, tea, coffee, soft drink. I think our group had a little bit of everything on the menu. The pancakes were the biggest disappointment as they did not have a lot of flavor since we ordered them plain. They were also a little dry. Other than the pancakes, all of the food was delicious. I regretfully forgot our server's name, but she moved from Alaska to help a friend in Mars Hill. She was fun, efficient, and helpful suggestions. We will definitely return
The overall experience was simply wonderful. Food was absolutely amazing, the service was stellar and the prices weren't outrageous. A must try!! It will not disappoint!!
The crab cakes were excellent and the vegetables done very well. Amanda, our waitress, was excellent and knowledgeable. Fair wine list. Interesting in that it is in a hotel lobby.
We were a party of four. Everyone enjoyed their dish very much. Portions and price were appropriate. It was a quieter atmosphere, which we wanted. Service was excellent.
At Forklore you are going for the great food. This is a hotel restaurant so noise and surroundings can vary by the day and events going on in Biltmore Park or surrounding areas. If you are local, this is the type of place where you can go to spend time with friends in good conversation with good food. For those staying at the hotel, this is a nice place to relax at the end of the day.
Had breakfast and dinner here, both were really good. They have fresh veggies and a nice entrees.

Trout was excellent. Cobb salad was very good. Service was a bit lacking the last two times I've been so plan to spend a little extra time there. They seem short staffed. Worth the time though.
A great breakfast will go back

I really enjoy meeting friends at 131,but can’t understand why the bar can’t serve Dewars 12 Year. I always ask for it… it can’t really cost more to have available.. What’s up with that!
Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel restaurant. Party of 4 had entrees of Trout, Salmon, Mushroom Ragout and Meatball Sandwich. sides of Crispy Brussels Sprout and Roasted Crimini Mushrooms, Corn Chowder. I have to say that everybody loved their meals and there were no leftovers. Very well done. I absolutely LOVED both the trout and the mushrooms. We would definitely eat here again. Ambiance is fair with hotel lobby nearby and bar with large TV, but definitely worth it for the food.
We had the spinach and cheese Benedict breakfast. The eggs were perfectly poached. The cheese grits were great. Andrew, our food server, was great. Very attentive and friendly. Very nice experience!

The salads and crab cake were well prepared and tasty. Our server was very attentive. The ambiance suffered from its close proximity to the lobby and the loud voices of hotel patrons chatting. We would return for a quick lunch but probably not dinner due to the lack of ambiance.
Wholly unimpressed. The food is unremarkable and pricey, and the service was horrible.
