Great spot. I enjoyed the tofu enchiladas very much! Great tea/lemonade drink. Service was on point. Thanks for a great meal!
Poor customer service. My son and I was seated at the worst table in the restaurant when there were plenty of other options that wouldn't have us cramp in the middle of other tables. We waited for about 15 minutes and no one spoke to us period, not even about drink orders. So we left and went about 15 feet to the restaurant right next door and was seated with drinks immediately.
We won't return!
Food was O K at best. Extremely expensive and took a while to receive food. We order burritos, tacos, enchiladas and they were literally all the same… All tacos… and everything was dry.

Has been one of our favorite places for years, but today’s experience was really disappointing. Food was bland and cold. Steak in the burrito is now shredded beef… an obvious money saver on lower quality cut. I’m really surprised. After Helene and Asheville needing local support, this is the time to really step up your game. Not sure if management changed, but this is not the same Salsa’s.

Food was pretty bland for our whole party unfortunately. Drinks were good and portions were large though.

Can’t remember a worse meal in Asheville. To start with we were the only two customers with at least four employees in the place and they still couldn’t get us our margaritas until after we finished our chips and the meal was served. By then we had asked where they were three times. Then we had the worst tacos. The birria tacos were not birria tacos, just bland pot roast with no consume. Not really sure why you would put pineapple salsa on the plate with supposed birria. The sweet and sour sauce on the plate just sort sealed the clueless plating. The black beans were bland. The food was not hot.

I've been eating at Salsa's for years and it never disappoints. Hector has served incredible Mexican Caribbean fare consistently, without compromising flavor and ingredients, using fresh, local produce and meats. The menu is seasonal and changes occasionally, which keeps things interesting. This time around I decided to try the Chicken and Chorizo Enchiladas. They were covered with charred vegetables, cheese and plantains. The chicken was tender and tasty, the chorizo wasn't greasy or overly salted. All this deliciousness was wrapped in homemade tortillas...beyond amazing!
I also ordered an appetizer with caramelized plantains (the BEST I've ever had), guacamole (so FRESH with a hint of pineapple), pico de gallo and fried yuca. The smoked salsa had some heat with a depth of flavor. I took most of the food home, as the portions are generous. There's indoor/outdoor seating, it gets pretty busy on the weekends, so plan on arriving right when they open at 5:00. I can't wait to go again!

Great place to eat spicy food! Friendly service there and everything is cooked fresh. Today it's been a bit too cold for me inside because the window in the kitchen has been opened. I'm a person who gets cold easily.
Thank you for our delicious dinner and we will come back again!

Drove all the way into downtown Asheville just to go here. Hours of operation say open but restaurant is closed. Called and get a recording saying they’re open every day except for Tuesday and today is Monday. What the heck?!
Paella and mojitos were on point. Service was fast and friendly on a holiday weekend

We started off with the calamari which came with a nice display of chopped vegetables and sauces. I took one piece and noticed something like a small bundle of fried hair. I asked the server to identify what it was and he said he thought it was the hair from the corn but would ask the cook. Already I can't buy this because do they fry corn hole and secondly do you not take the hair from the corn? He came back and said yes that is what it is and do we want to continue with it or should he bring another plate. I opted for another plate but the second plate was dumbed down to half as much calamari and some sauce. I thougt at this point I should pay calamari, cancel the rest of my order and leave but the dish came out as I pundered. I really could not enjoy the rest of the meal. I paid the tab of $80+ including the tip for the server but left with regret. I suppose I will not for get our 43rd anniversary meal at Salsa's. One other regret, not taking a picture since of the item that looks like hair.

Where to begin? Let’s start with the positives. You get A LOT of food in your meal, the margaritas (ordered the jalapeño cucumber) were delicious and refreshing, our server was friendly, but that’s really where it ends. We got the steak fajitas and they were super over cooked (like the meat was beyond well done) and not seasoned at all. They also didn’t come out with any chimichurri that was mentioned in the description. As someone who grew up in a Spanish family, I had no idea you could make Spanish rice and beans that were more flavorless than plain white rice, but apparently you can. The plantains were underripe and overcooked. What makes it worse is fajitas in a Mexican restaurant costing $29!!! Like I said the portion size was large, but for how unseasoned they were I would’ve rather had less for less money. The giant platter also only came with 3 tortillas, so we asked for an extra side of tortillas because you need at least 8-10 for the size of the platter. They only brought out THREE MORE and charged $5 for them??? For small corn tortillas?? Yes, we did eat the meal because we hadn’t eaten since breakfast (went to Salsas for dinner) and there was a wait at other restaurants but will absolutely never again frequent or recommend unless you’re only going for one margarita and eating elsewhere.

Delicious food! Very flavorful but a LOT of food. Glad we didn’t get an appetizer! But the pork empanadas and the chicken quesadillas were delicious as well as the made from scratch Margarita! It’s the best I’ve had but a little on the sweet side in my opinion. Overall service was great and food delicious! Also a very small restaurant so not much seating.

Salsas has gone mostly Mexican. No longer a complex carribean fusion of flavors. Sad to see it decline after so many good years.
