When I was there I seen bugs crawling around and later that day when we walked by she was closed and the cakes was still out to sale for the next day
This is the first vegan cake I had from a bakery for my birthday, I usually just make one myself. It was a raspberry almond cake with vegan buttercream. The cake was good, however I didn’t taste any almond in it. The frosting is terrible, it coats your mouth in a waxy film that lingers, and the scant vanilla flavor didn’t mask the unexpected rancid taste of the oil/vegan butter that was used. Really disappointing for the price.
Last years birthday cake for my wife was my first purchase They have the Vegan cakes. I am on my way to pick up this years cake and it has become a yearly ritual now. Lemon blueberry cream with fruit topping. 🤤 😋
I dropped in hoping to score a vegan cupcake or something like that and they had nothing.
All around great! Definitely a must visit. They also need the business after Helene came through and wiped out the majority of their fall business. We bought some amazing small cupcakes and all for a fair price.

Short Street was recommended to us by our photographer for our elopement ceremony and I could not have been more happy with the result. With one week's notice, they provided a beautiful cake with a floral arrangement that matched my bouquet at a very reasonable price. We ordered the pina colada cake and everyone agreed that it was delicious.

This place has the best cakes but when I called to order for Christmas, they are closed that week? What? In other words, Christmas is on Wednesday and they are closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Makes no sense whatsoever for a holiday week.

Perfect! This is the second time I’ve ordered gluten free cakes from Short Street Cakes for my birthday. I ordered 2 cakes for my this time, they were delicious and so cute! The raspberry almond cake was amazing and I highly recommend. These cakes were the best part of my birthday this year!

We love Short Street! My husband and I got married in June 2024 and there was no doubt who we would order our cake from - we support Short Street as often as we can. We ended up getting a small round cake for us to cut and two sheet cakes to serve to our guests. All three were delicious and looked beautiful. Highly recommend Short Street for all of your dessert needs!!! (Photos by Dewitco. Photography)

THIS CAKE WAS INEDIBLE AND A HEALTH HAZARD!!!
I bought the medium, gluten free, strawberry short street cake for my birthday party. I live an hour away, so my wonderful partner went to pick it up. He said that the shop almost gave him the wrong cake, but my partner noticed it said Happy Birthday Ida (not my name), and brought it back to the staff after it had already been handed over.
That night at the party, we sliced about half the cake and passed it out to our guests. No one took more than one bite. The most awkward polite silence fell over the group. Then I tried it, and realized that the batter was completely RAW inside the center.
Additionally, the VERY few "fresh" strawberries in between the two layers were soggy and discolored. The icing was thin and tasted like straight sugar, there was no hint of cream cheese or strawberry flavor in it. I was so embarrassed. I had to ask everyone to stop eating (although no one had taken a second bite anyway, it was so disgusting) because the raw batter could cause a bacterial infection. We threw the slices away and it was the most uncomfortable ending to a birthday party I've ever been to. The rest of the cake sat on my kitchen counter for two days until I could call the bakery and ask for a refund. They wanted me to bring the cake back to prove it was raw, but since I live an hour away they agreed to let me send photos to assess whether I deserved a refund. They replied to the photos with a text that I would receive a refund after ten days. I'm glad because I spend around $50 on this horrible cake.
Unfortunately I can't get the experience of my birthday back, and they didn't offer to replace the cake, so I'll never know if they can make a better one. This was the worst cake I've ever had in my life. The friend who recommended this shop to me was at my party and was mortified as well. He said the cake he had from this place before was nothing like this, but if the quality is so inconsistent I would not risk using this bakery for anything other than a dessert cupcake on a random day. I can't imagine if this had happened for my wedding cake, or a huge 50th birthday party or something.
It's not like they misspelled my name, or used the wrong frosting - this cake was inedible and a health hazard. I am hoping that the entire party doesn't develop salmonella.
Will update when I receive the refund
UPDATE: It has been 15 days and I have NOT received a refund even though they assured me I would be refunded within 10 days. When I call, no one answers.
Dietary restrictions: Try any other bakery for gluten free or vegan, but not this one

Valerie was wonderful in assisting my order for a 1/4 sheet buttermilk white cake with vanilla buttercream icing. The cake was DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL!!! I have not had a cake this good in YEARS!!! I will definitely use Short Street Cakes for EVERY upcoming gathering or event. I even live an hour away and will make the drive every time. Thank you, Short Street Cakes!

The cake was really beautiful!
But the taste was not good and the communication was also not good.
I order a raspberry Almond cake. The icing was overwhelming and the cake was dry and flavorless.
I called and before we could finish talking the person on the phone rushed me off the phone because they had people coming in the store. She didn't ask for what kind of flavor I wanted but told me to send a message via Instagram. I sent a detailed description of my order. I then recieve a message on instagram asking for my card information which I find uncomfortable to do and unprofessional. I responded asking if I could call back to talk about the flavor and to give my card information over the phone. No response, so I called back a little later to see if I could talk to someone. No answer so I called the next day in which I spoke to someone very nice who took down my full order and card info so I was all set.
Some days before the cake is to be picked up I get a call from the same first woman saying I didn't leave my card information. I told her I did and she checked again and was able to find it. The morning I'm supposed to pick up the cake they call me again early and I feel nervous because they are asking me to confirm the details of the cake hours before pickup. I show up for the cake and they try to give me a graduation cake which made my stomach drop but they were just disorganized and didn't have a name written down for my order and had the cake ready after all.
Either way ,my grandma thought the cake was beautiful and it made her happy. I wouldn't really recommend this place but they did make a pretty cake and had it ready when it was time for me to pick it up.
I attached photos of what I sent them for reference versus what I recieved.

Short street cakes did our wedding cake and it was so beautiful. We ordered the vegan coconut flavor and it was the most delicious cakes we’ve ever had. Our guests still talk about it almost a year later!
