What a disappointment. We both ordered the $95 Filet Mignon Prix Fixe meal. Although the steaks were cooked appropriately (well done and medium), one was barely warm, and the other one was cold. The Lobster Butter placed on top did not even melt. We complained, and ultimately the price of one meal was removed from the bill. When dessert came (the butter pecan cake) it was cold and it seemed it was days old. Very hard to cut and tasted a bit stale. We were very disappointed, as previous dining experiences there were very good. For the $95 price point, I would have expected that it would be top notch food, not lukewarm food, devoid of almost any flavor. We will not be returning.
The restaurant was nice, but we would not go back. The staff were very friendly, kind, and warm. However, the food was bland, cold, and not worth the price. We value fine dining, and expect the quality of the food to match the price of it. We went to the candle light three course dinner - we ordered the charcuterie board appetizer, and it took almost 30 minutes to come out. Which was ok at first because the three courses included a salad. However, our dinner arrived less than 5 minutes after the charcuterie board so there was no time to eat it. We took bites of our dinner and not only was it already cold, it was bland. The mushroom risotto had no flavor, and the short ribs were overpowered by cold grits underneath. The desserts were tiny and cold when brought to us, very underwhelming. It was a nice atmosphere for Christmas at the biltmore, but it is not a place I can recommend.
Our server Norington was great! He treated us like we were millionaires ourselves. The food, as always, was excellent.
Our Server was excellent and the Duck was superior. Beautiful interesting environment in old horse stable. Busy Thanksgiving weekend but service was not at all affected. Will return.
Just a nice extra when visiting the Biltmore. Great to be dining in a stable! Have eaten here numerous times and always pleased. Our server Donna gets 10 stars!
The service was fabulous! The food was fabulous! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Biltmore!
Our server Ira was great. He said the burger was great and it was! Thanks for an enjoyable, relaxing lunch!
Fun to have lunch here while touring the chateau. The roasted chicken meal was pure comfort food. Very professional wait staff.
Our server was great! Just the right mix of friendly and professional. There were 5 in our party. Each ordered something different and all the dishes were delicious but especially the shrimp and grits. The sampler platter is easily enough for two to share! Our overall experience was exceptional!
This restrauant is darling and makes you feel even more immersed in the Vanderbilt life after the house tour. The food was delcious and not a terrible price. We went at lunch and made a reservation a month prior to our visit and waited a minute for our table to be ready, which was amazing. Our service was helpful and not overbearing. We over all had a great experience and I will definitly eat here again!

The atmosphere at the café was very pleasant. We had an exceptionally friendly waitress named Jackie, who served us both times we visited. The food was excellent — we highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich and the pork sandwich. The Buckeye Peanut Butter Mousse Bar was absolutely fantastic and a must-try! We also sampled the red velvet cake, which was just okay compared to the other items. Prices were reasonable and in line with what you’d expect at a tourist-area restaurant.
We ate here after our tour of the Biltmore and it is basically next to the estate. It is in the old stables. It was recommended to us and so glad we ended up here. We had a reservation which was needed and the menu wasn’t huge but varied enough. The salads we had were delicious and filling and the service was also good. Would definitely recommend
This menu is right up my alley. It had so many dishes that I love that. I ordered a ridiculous amount of food. Every single thing was absolutely fantastic ! The deviled eggs (though we didn’t get the bacon on them) … yum!!!! The bisque - smooth and flavorful! The corn bread - out of this world! A Cobb salad also minus the bacon with the pulled pork on top … yum yum yum!
Stable Cafe is our second favorite spot to eat on Biltmore property (we are annual pass holders, and our favorite place is Cedric's Tavern). The location is charming adjacent to the Biltmore House. Brunch and lunch are available, and you don't have to be visiting the house to enjoy this restaurant. Stable Cafe is appropriately named as the dining room is in what was once the stables for the Vanderbilt family. There are stores, a bakery, a counter service restaurant, and an ice cream shop near the restaurant as well. If you don't want an expensive dessert, have a meal at the Stable Cafe then go out into the courtyard for ice cream. Service at Stable Cafe is great. Both the hostess and server were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Reservations are recommended, but we were able to walk right in for lunch during the week. Since it was just the two of us and it had been a long time being at the Stable Cafe, we went for the Appalachian Sampler and sweet tea. Everything on the platter was delicious. It was plenty of food for two people...and it left us room for ice cream on our way out! "The Appalachian Sampler $38 Gluten Free Applewood smoked pulled pork, local Spicewalla roasted chicken, Cheerwine bbq baked beans, cheddar cheese grits, southern potato salad, vinegar coleslaw, house pickled vegetables, served with Carolina honey mustard and cranberry bbq"
Amazing experience and the atmosphere made a perfect Gilded Age experience. Servers were great and the food was wonderfully delicious. Ask for the Pumpkin Brulee, you won't be disappointed.
