Great location, friendly staff and good food. Perfect place when visiting Biltmore House or Gardens.

We enjoyed our server very much. She was helpful and knowledgeable. Her name was Victoria. The room is large and loud. The food is very tasty. The cocktails were good but not great. The prices were outrageous! $19 for a Bloody Mary!! Really?? Ok!

Wonderful Ambience and quick service but food quality is below average. Chicken salad sandwich and pulled pork were both subpar but soup was good.

Service was ok. Asked for salad dressing on the side. Salad came predressed and was drenched in salad dressing. Very hard to eat. The server never came back to check on us till the end. Food was ok good, but $23 for a side salad with a scoop of chicken salad was a bit high in price.

Great service, beautiful space, bad food. Thankful what we ordered was not super expensive because none of it was great. Chicken was so dry it stuck to our mouths. Pork sandwich had the same problem (even covered in sauce). “Mashed” and fried golden potatoes were not mashed (just sliced) and super cold. Mac and cheese was bland. The only thing we loved was the cornbread appetizer.

I had the soup special, which was nice. I also had the Strawberry Salad and my husband had the pork sandwich with lukewarm fries. Both were just OK. It almost seemed as very little dressing was on the salad, so it had very little flavor. Our server was great, however.

I have probably eaten at this restaurant 75 times over the past thirteen years. The past two times were way below their standards. I had a reservation today at 1pm. I stood in line for ten minutes to check in. The lady confirmed my reservation, told me they would text when my table was ready. It is 6:21. I have received no text. It was so disorganized. I have been there so many, many times, and never seen it like it was today. I just left.

I was really excited to eat here and honestly the food was terrible. My husband and I both got salads with pulled chicken. The chicken was so dry it was inedible. Each salad with the chicken was close to $30. Definitely a disappointment.

Food was excellent. Cornbread app was creative. Wedge salad likewise. Mac and cheese delicious!

Attentive, professional waitress, excellent food, neat atmosphere. Dinner served from 4-8 had a price fixed menu. Highly recommend the short ribs with grits. Asheville is open for business!

The hostesses were really nice, but the waitress we got was not. She took maybe 10-15 minutes to get to us, which wasn't too bad, but after getting our order, she barely checked on us and it took a really long time to get the check. We had an hour before our tour, the restaurant took about 45 minutes and we got were decent drinks.

We are annual pass holders and have routinely dined at the Stable Cafe for at least 9 years and I am sorry to say the food quality and selections have been slowly going down hill for some time now and have reached an unacceptable level IMHO. The Stable Cafe now holds the dubious distinction of having the worst overpriced food I have ever encountered. I find this a bit ironic since it has some of the best service and atmosphere I have come across as well. It is a shame to have to watch those last two advantages being squandered over time. The convenience of having a sit down meal next to the Biltmore House no longer mitigates the poor food quality and meager selections. You might want to think about planning your day so you can take in the property yet eat anywhere else besides the Stable Cafe. Hopefully Property Management will take note and take a closer look at the Stable Cafe and right the ship. I fear they are the restaurant's only hope to change the trajectory it is on.

What a disappointment! We arrived promptly for our 3 p.m. reserved seating time slot. The restaurant was almost empty. There was a four-top and a two-top occupied. My friends and I were seated at a booth (stall) beside the kitchen where it was freezing. The a/c vent was under the table and blew directly onto our legs and laps. I requested a move and was told we could move to the table beside the booth which was even closer to the kitchen. (In fact, it was the table CLOSEST to the kitchen.) No one assisted us with moving our flatware, menus, etc. Once settled, we enjoyed a continual parade of wait staff passing by our table, and were loudly serenaded by talking and the sounds of dishes, and pots and pans. We ordered quickly and ate quickly. We did appreciate that our server was pleasant and friendly, and our food, as per usual, tasty and bountiful. We did not, however, appreciate the sweeping and cleaning going on all around us. The sweeping, in particular, seemed unsanitary while we were eating. I do not understand why we were given a reservation time at closing time. I know the cafe is casual dining, but it seems to me that the Biltmore standards and professionalism should be upheld until the last guest leaves the restaurant. At the very least, we could have been seated away from the chaos. I was embarrassed about the dining experience but my friends were good natured and gracious. I've often enjoyed the Stable Cafe but doubt I'll return.

Not only was the service and food fantastic but we were so very impressed with the outcome of what could have been a very bad experience. One of the ladies from our party left her purse and we had been away from the restaurant for well over an hour and a half and as we were leaving the grounds she realized she had left her purse. The shuttle driver promptly got us back as quickly as possible and although the restaurant was closed, we were able to flag down an employee still working inside. They kindly opened the door and let us search and it turned out an employee had already submitted the purse to front desk. We were abundantly grateful to get the purse back and all its contents as well. In today's world this happens less and less. The Biltmore has wonderful employees, and we were very pleased for this.
