We dined here for lunch back-to-back days. Servers both days were very knowledgeable and friendly. They also shared some of the history of the restaurant. The booths are placed in the original horse stalls. The iron work, subway tile and brick floor are all original too. The second story is the old hay loft. My wife had the trout BLT both days. So good. I did the chicken salad Day 1 and hamburger Day 2. Both were excellent.
The service was very on point and the food was nice and tasty. The bruschetta was very tasty and the meatloaf was excellent. The BBQ sauce on the meatloaf had a nice vinegar tang, the potatoes were cooked perfect along with the green beans. The serving was large and we were able to split the meal.
We've been going to the Biltmore for years and every trip we eat at The Stables. This year as usual, the service was spot on! However, what has happened with the portions and food quality? I can remember when the sampler was enough for 2 people to eat & actually served on a gorgeous platter showcasing the food. The tin plate that was brought to us was so mediocre, especially for the price! The potatoes for our chicken were also so overdone. We did not complain as it appears...
