The Sunny Point is a delightful place with friendly staff. This is NOT the review I wanted to write. I shared so much of my dining partner’s delicious chicken and waffle with grits dish that I ate my biscuit and some of my salad with the tasty balsamic vinegar dressing; but had the remaining salad and grilled chicken boxed up to go home. The box went straight into the refrigerator when we got home and I looked forward to having it for dinner. I noticed a crunch to the grilled chicken when eating it later, but didn’t see any red in the interior so I finished it. Big mistake! I was sick with an upset stomach all night and into this morning. It felt like Salmonella. Ironic, because I really liked the restaurant and my partner’s fried chicken and waffles were great. I guess whoever was on the grill under cooked my chicken.
Best food on a long weekend trip to the Biltmore. My wife had the Fuervos and I had the regular version of Huevos Rancheros. Excellent flavor and service. The homemade verde sauce is a winner. Biscuits looked so great that we bought one from their bakery to go home. The wait is worth it! Bloody Marys are phenomenal.
Googled breakfast spots in Asheville and this came up. It DID NOT disappoint. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great breakfast. They have all the usuals plus more than a few different options. I had the stuffed French toast and it was incredible. In addition they had some of the best bacon I've ever had. Don't even think about going anywhere else!! Word of advice. We were there on a Friday morning. I asked the server what time we should get there if we wanted to come on a Saturday morning. They open at 830. She says to be there no later than 815. I think that says it all!!! Enjoy!
My husband and I are here on a Saturday morning. We were looking for an excellent breakfast and certainly found it here at Sunny Point Cafe. My husband ordered the Philly Steak and Eggs. I ordered the Fall Omelette. We both got a coffee with cream. Both our dishes were phenomenal. I did enjoy my husband’s a little more than my own, however, I would order both dishes again. Food was fresh, cooked perfectly, and each dish was unique. They have a beautiful menu and I have no doubt that you couldn’t go wrong ordering anything on their menu. Coffee was great too. My omelette came with a biscuit that was great, I ordered praline butter to go with it which was unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. Please try the praline butter, it was great. Service was good. Price was fair. If you want to eat early, please arrive early, at least 10 minutes and queue up. We arrived about five minutes after opening and were the first in line to be placed on a waitlist. We waited 45 minutes to 1 hour. We were provided with complimentary coffee and water while waiting. To me it was worth the wait. Keep in mind if you’re visiting the Asheville area, if you want to eat good food and you don’t arrive early or have reservations at some of these places, you will likely be waiting. Don’t let this detour you though. If there’s a line, it’s probably worth it in my opinion. I would highly recommend this place.
Love that a restaurant has a garden next door where they are growing a ton of things that they are going to serve to you! Love the food, great vegan options, good service and a nice vibe to the place. And they have a bakery next door with scrumptious goodies 😋
Ask for the separate vegan menu. It has a good number of options, and the ones we got tasted great! Lovely garden ambiance! Attached bakery only had one vegan option when we were there.
Excellent breakfast and brunch spot with a wide variety of options. Great food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere.
We always try to stop at Sunny Point when in Asheville and we have never been disappointed in the service and in our orders of Shrimp and Grits . Kim was a wonderful and attentive server. She was explained how the scrumptious sauce is made as well as how the savory maple syrup black pepper bacon topping is baked in an oven to perfection. We all ate every bite while we admired the newish veggie wallpaper. We love Sunny Point and highly recommend it.
Where has Sunny Point been on my trips to Asheville? I don't know, but I am thrilled to have found it. I ordered the Southern Omelet and I do not make this statement lightly - it was the best omelet I've ever eaten! The pimento cheese paired with amazing bacon was off the chain. And just when I thought it couldn't get better, I tried the house jam on my biscuit. Holy smoke! Mix that jam with sawdust and put it on a flip-flop and I'd still eat it. Ranks with some of the best things I've ever tasted. I saw why there was a 30 min wait on a weekday - well worth it. I didn't mind it and you won't either.
I got the biscuits and gravy which were very nice. Atmosphere was alright it was pretty tight in there though. Was hoping to sit outside but there are not a lot of tables available outside

Unfortunately the parking is so bad, after circling the area for 15 minutes, we went elsewhere. Too bad as we really had hope of trying it out!
Somewhere between good and great. A solid breakfast/brunch with a nice menu and very good service. Some creative and fun stuff on the menu. I'd recommend it.
Shrimp and grits, with bacon and tomatoes. Unusual and delicious flavor and plenty of shrimp. More grits would have helped portion size, but I took mine home and added grits, reheated to get my grits flavored and had 2 meals! Wait times are awful… call in your order!!! Atmosphere is fun.
AWESOME FOOD & COFFEE ALONG WITH GREAT AMBIANCE AND SERVICE. WE ALWAYS TRY TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL "MOM & POP" PLACES WHEN ON THE ROAD.
Wonderful brunch with a very unique selection of delicious food. We all tried different things and shared family style. The drinks were also delicious especially the Bloody Mary with the Maple Bacon topping. While waiting for your table , there is usually a wait, The Rabbit Hole , which is part of the Resturant, is a great place to visit and maybe have a glass of wine. I highly recommend this Resturant for breakfast/brunch!
