Ask for the separate vegan menu. It has a good number of options, and the ones we got tasted great! Lovely garden ambiance! Attached bakery only had one vegan option when we were there.

Food is delicious, service is great by a very friendly stuff. However, the noise level created by cheap iron chairs being constantly dragged over a rough cement floor is unbareable.

This place gets a lot of traffic so we thought to try it. We waited about 25 min for a table. Once seated we were offered drinks but no creamer or sugar for the coffee only what was left there by the previous guest. Not enough for two people. We stayed to
The waiter that it was our first time and he did not provide any feedback especially notifying us that the majority of the items in the menu are spicy. (Important information when you have gallbladder issues)

We began with the carrot pancakes: good and dense

Breakfast sandwich: good but peppered bacon is spicy

Breakfast plate: grits were spicy and so was the sausage.

Coffee was replenished but no creamer or sugar and asked but was not brought any only sugar

Service was very subpar. Waiter just didn’t want to take care of our table. I kept trying to get his attention but he would only smile from a distance and would go the other way. The one time he did appear after 10 on sitting looking at our meal I told him that the food for me was inedible and he just nodded and left.

Finally after 20 min we were approached by a man who noticed me trying to get the waiter and asked what we needed.

Told him about my food not being edible due to spice as well as getting a ticket. He offered to cut the cost of that plate in half.

Basically we paid 48 dollars for two eggs one pancake a sandwich and a salad. I was still hungry and due to having a meeting in Black Mountain we ran into a Cuban restaurant that not only was delicious but did not break the bank.

Never again! This is definitely not a breakfast place that I would recommend or try again.

The restaurant uses fresh vegetables from their beautiful garden on the property. Outdoor seating is ideal. Plus the restaurant supported the local community during hurricane Helene with daily breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is a treasure.

YUMMMM - you can do literally no wrong with any dish you order at Sunny Point. I brought my parents here when they were visiting from NJ and we were lucky enough to get in on a Monday morning and sit outside on the patio (which is dog friendly and adorable). The ambience is so beautiful, especially with the shade and the different planters full of all kinds of plants. Ian, our waiter, was awesome and offered all kinds of suggestions and favorites and even shared The Sunny Point cookbook with us. GET THE CANDIED BACON!!

I got the southern omelette (which is my go to). The pimento makes the eggs so creamy and the tomatoes are fresh and the bacon is delicious. Their grits are the best I’ve ever had. Creamy and cheesy. It also comes with a biscuit which is delicious with the jam on the table. My mom got the French toast, which she raved about and then tried to find the recipe for. Ian suggested we start with the peach pound cake bites. They were SO decadent and a large portion. They are so welcoming at Sunny point. They don’t take reservations, but the wait is well worth it. Plus you can grab a drink while you wait.

Was told to wait 20 minutes for a table. Didn’t receive a text or anything and had to go back inside and ask for a table again. The server never asked me what I wanted to drink. No silverware was provided until I asked. The server didn’t check on the table until it was time for the check. Terrible experience overall will not come back:(
