Excellent food, excellent service and wonderful ambiance on the terrace on a beautiful spring day. We went there for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the lobster cobb salad and gouda mac and cheese. Our gracious waitress, Heather, made it an especially memorable experience!
Fantastic dinner and one of the most attentive servers we've ever had at the Sunset Terrace.
Damara greeted us and promptly seated us. She was lovely. Her sea bass recommended was spot on. Everyone in our party enjoyed the meal. The only issue was that the rare ribeye was very overcooked. This mistake was quickly resolved and our desserts were comped as a result. I highly recommend Sunset Terrace.
The food at the Sunset Terrace is good but you are really paying for the view. Service was excellent!
If I could give Jonathan more than 5 stars I would. Outstanding, best in 5 visits over 3 years. Food excellent as always
Such an incredible view, kind and attentive, service, and tasty, unique dishes. Great choice for a lunch date.
The view, as always, is one of the best things going for this place. Luke provided excellent service. The food was, however, disappointing. My husband and I remembered the crab cake sandwich being really amazing and not only was it not, but it wasn't even good. Very bready, the “slaw” on it was mushy and not complimentary in flavor, and the brioche bun was the same as the one I buy at my local grocery store. Fine, but nothing special. Also, the fries were cold. Not worth the atmosphere for overpriced, mediocre food. Asheville has plenty of other worthy options.
The view from the terrace is amazing, so was the food and wine. The server was so upbeat and friendly, she made our experience better!!
We were celebrating my mother's 75th birthday. The view from the terrace was breathtaking. There was a worm in my husband's salad, but the rest of the meal was excellent.

This was a really fun experience for a special occasion! We made last minute reservations and only the 4:30 slot was available. The view is amazing, but bring sunglasses! As the sun goes down, it is really hard to look out at the mountains. It was also hot. We were directly in the sun since we were on the first row and there were not fans above us. It got really hot and we were sweaty when there wasn’t a breeze blowing. The food and service were amazing! Erica was our server, and she was really nice and helped recommend drinks as I was having a tough time finding one I liked.

Great experience overall. They accommodated our party of 7 to a table when we were an hour early. I wish I could remember our waitresses name because she was amazing. Food was absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to visit sometime again!

What an awesome place. Lots of history and a beautiful spot. Amazing to think that this place was built 100 years ago. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. I will be back.

I enjoy the view so immensely the food is usually good but not the best I've ever had. I prefer lunch due to the types of food. The waitress, while absolutely lovely, seemed miffed when we didn't order entrees. We had the mac n cheese, crab cakes, whipped potatoes, mushrooms, french onion soup and creamed spinach. Skip the creamed spinach and french onion soup. The soup smacked me with sherry. Not my thing. I prefer mine with more of a beefy salty taste. I can't expain the spinach tragedy. Other than to say it was not very creamy. The crab cake! Holy cow. I'd go back for that alone. And the sauteed mushrooms.. yum! I will continue to visit this beautiful place every time I'm in Ashville. I love the veiw.
Kid-friendliness: I've taken my kids before, and they did a great job being patient with them.
