The staff at the Barrelhouse is great. From the time we arrived until a few hours later when we left, our party was treated wonderfully. Big kudos to the two young ladies running the front of the house! The Barrelhouse has a decent menu with some bar food standards and some surprised. We ordered the fried deviled eggs (definitely recommend) and the cheddar and onion perogies (also recommend). The garlic parmesan wings were crispy and flavorful. The fries and sandwiches were ok. We would visit again to try more appetizers and because the staff is so great!

Came into Asheville with a family member in the hospital looking for a place open late night on a Saturday night to get some food. The restaurant advertises that they're open till two. Called ahead to make sure they were still serving food ordered two orders of chicken tenders and fries… Chicken tenders were almost all breading virtually no chicken and only one tender was a normal size tender. The other three were little small one bite pieces… The fries were soggy and too greasy! $27 for just two orders of chicken tenders and fries no drinks nothing else! Food was horrible...the price was ridiculous.... will never eat there again!

One of our favorite places we went on our trip! We went late at night after a concert and were greeted by a very friendly staff that made us feel right at home. The perogies, brussel sprouts, and fried deviled eggs were DELICIOUS! I wish I could have them every day ?
Our first time at Barrelhouse, and I can confidently say it’s where the locals go! This cozy dive bar exceeded all expectations, and we’ll definitely be adding it to our regular rotation. While we can't comment on the drinks, aside for the fact they have a vast list of beers and cocktails, the food is great.
What truly sets Barrelhouse apart is the food. So much of what they serve is housemade – from the pickles, fries, and ketchup to the seasonings, dressings, and sauces. Even if it’s not made in-house, it’s locally sourced, and you can tell they take pride in the details. It’s rare to find a spot that goes the extra mile like this.
We tried the daily special, donut burger, buffalo chicken Philly cheesesteak, and jerk chicken wings – all fantastic. The flavors were bold, fresh, and everything was made to order. Plus, considering how much is made from scratch, the prices are unbelievable. Where else can you get a burger with chips or fries for just $10?
If you’re looking for a local spot with great food, affordable prices, and a laid-back vibe, Barrelhouse is a must-visit.
Lastly, the staff is friendly and top notch. Highly recommended!

Nothing bad to say about this place. The workers are fantastic and so are the cooks. Food is delicious, ambiance is superb, drinks are always great. Wings are top tier every time I get them, especially when made by Chef Shampo. He is so kind and funny! And quite handsome! Great job, BH keep it up
I love this place. They have great daily specials on food and beer, and everything I've ever had here has been excellent. Great burgers and sandwiches, home-made fries, tasty apps like fried brussels sprouts and home-made pierogies. I've been there probably a dozen times and every beer I've ordered has been a very good pour, so you come pretty close to getting 16oz in a pint (instead of the normal 12 to 14 oz pours you can typically get elsewhere). In addition to all the local / regional beers they serve, they also have Narragansett lager for $3 a pint every day. It's pretty good on tap. Mondays special is $4 stout and $6 for 8 wings. Tuesday is $4 sierra nevada and $6 bacon-ranch-cheddar fries. Wed is $3 Lagunitas IPA etc... Great specials. The service has always been friendly and everything you could ask for. Bonus: The tax is already in the prices, so a $5 beer is $5 on the bill. Love that. Definitely check it out if you're looking for some quality food and drink. I don't think anyone would be dissappointed.
cons: It's a bit dark inside and the AC is usually set so low that even a fat man like myself gets cold in there, so maybe bring extra clothes.

The unique spin on the pierogies and the elk hotdogs were yummy and fun. The fries are perfect! The adult beverages are excellent. The staff is very nice.
For $22 I got a T-Bone, 2 sides + a craft beer on draft! So delicious & a bargain. Staff is friendly & relaxed. Lighting is low, but oil lamps at each table are the perfect touch. Safe place for single folks wanting a solitary drink or meal, too.
