We have been wanting to visit black bird for a few years now, but between COVID and no availability we weren't able to make that happen. This time around we made a reservation early and so thankful we did. The food was amazing. Definitely try the pork chop and filet. Mark (our waiter) was excellent. If you're coming through Asheville this is a must.

We are visiting Asheville and looked on Yelp for a place to eat. Found this restaurant as highly recommended. It was exceptional! The food is amazing and Monica, our server, was spot on! Very congenial. The ambiance was great. Music just right volume and pleasing. The restaurant setup is striking and modern. Highly recommend this to all for a great meal.

Coffee was great. Ordered the Eggs Benedict and grits. This was so good. Come here and order the rest. Friends ordered chicken and biscuits. They loved it!!! Our waitress name was Kaitlyn.

Delicious food!! Exquisite tastes!! Every bite shared was delicious. ? Atmosphere was busy and seemed a little tight. The only uncomfortable part about the experience was we were not told the check can only be split 3 ways with a group of 8 people. Not sure why we manager later allowed to split the bill 7 ways but not 8 ways as that was the total of us in a group. Friends felt uncomfortable and pressured. Overall be aware it is pricey. Gratitude + plus kitchen appreciation added. Surprised us since it was our first time there. However overall delicious food. Recommend

I've been here several times, and it has always been amazing. Delicious vegetarian and vegan options that are thoughtfully considered and not just run of the mill after thoughts like many places. Great staff, always attentive but always give plenty of time to enjoy the meal and dinner conversation without feeling rushed. Restaurant is lovely, and convenient in downtown Asheville. Will continue to be back!Vegetarian options: Four fully vegetarian or vegetarian options every time I've been there. Delicious and thoughtfully considered. Last visit, I had the vegan vegetable cassoulet, which was delicious and very hearty. My husband had the vegetable Wellington, which was also wonderful.

Disappointing all the way around. Food is fair and service was average. The server kinda just slid our food down between her side work. Would have had better server and food at Waffle

Delicious food, superb service, and a fun atmosphere. We had a big group and the restaurant did an exceptional job. A special thank you to our wonderful server Ari, who was professional, efficient, and very welcoming!

We got the chefs tasting and first 4 of 6 dishes were absolutely incredible, server was informed one person in the party was gluten free, shrimp bisque came out with a bunch of croutons added, however this was fixed right away when server was told and a new bowl was brought out, it was delicious!

We had the tasting menu, but I wouldn't recommend it. Single dishes were much better, but we enjoyed our time there. The shrimp bisque, trout and scallops were without fault, but the beef was under seasoned.

Went for lunch on a Monday. We loved the vibe. Great cocktails; the bloody Mary’s did not disappoint. The beignets were delicious. We will definitely be back for more.

You want a true farm to table fine dining experience in downtown Asheville? You got it right here!Unbelievably friendly service throughout the whole evening, from our main server to the helpers who brought the food, down to the bartender and owner who checked on us throughout the evening. My wife and I chose the 6 course tasting menu since we haven’t been here before and wanted to experience what the chef had in store for the evening. The 6 course dinner, including a palate cleanser in between costs $65. Less than $10 per course if you include the palate cleanser. What an unbelievably great price for what we you get in this fine dining establishment.Every course was outstanding. First two started off with a tasty shrimp bisque followed by fresh roasted mushrooms with the most amazing celery root puree. Next came the 2 seafood courses, the melt in your mouth scallop gratin followed by a perfectly cooked mountain trout with red rice salad. The braised beef for our 5th course didn’t need a knife, it was that tender. We finished off with a decadent truffle medley for dessert. Each and every course had depth to flavor and portioned perfectly so you were completely satiated by the evening’s end.Highly recommend both the tasting menu and the regular menu for a great downtown Asheville fine dining experience. This chef can cook!
