Walked in through the open back door and saw a sign that said employees only so I said "oh can we come in through this door?" And the bartender had a trash attitude and rudely said "I mean it's an open door so I would hope so" . I had wanted to leave promptly after that but instead sent my fiancé in to grab us a beer and enjoy the view so I wouldn't have to interact with the grump. Super disappointing experience.

Very rude. Have recommended this place to others in past. Won't be back. The person working showed up late and was in a bad mood. The place has beautiful views is the only redeeming quality.

The website says it opens at 1; but the bartender didn't show up until 1:30 and then was incredibly rude in informing us she wouldn't be opening until 2 (on a Saturday). Yelp actually shows a 12 opening time.

I was recommended from banks. I got to the getaway and they were playing poker. Nikita the bartender told me it was free she was awesome also played and bet us… and won! lol. But I’m definitely coming back it was a good time and the vibe was good.

One of the best hidden gems in Asheville! A classic dive bar with pool tables, outdoor seating by the river, a colorful cast of regulars, and fun events every week from kareoke to drag shows! They also have fire pits outside now that it is getting chilly. They even have unlimited pac-man on the old school arcade machine should you be so inclined! They do not serve food but there is a food truck that is available from time to time and on Sundays they started doing a brunch which is a great deal for all you can eat. Definitely worth checking out if you're in asheville!

Gosh. I wish I could have a better review for this place. But it was really awful from the beginning to the end. First of all, they charged a $10 cover and approve that we have paid the cover they just do a heart on our hand. The cover was for absolutely nothing. There is no music or anything. When we got in, the bartender was in a huge fight with either another bartender or the manager. He was incredibly disrespectful to her and everyone. It was an absolutely uncomfortable situation to observe/be in. She actually felt bad for us and bought our drinks. Unnecessary but kind. The manager actually spoke to us about the situation because he observed it. That was definitely worthy of a star and some respect. Hope he did something about it afterwards. The space itself is pretty dirty and the drinks were nothing to write home about. This is definitely somewhere I would just get a cheap beer. I do like they have some nice hitop tables and pool. They also have a little outdoor space for concerts and such. For some reason, the bartender took my card even though I paid in cash. I had to drive all the way back for it and he was super confused. He commented that he never takes the cards. So I'm not sure why he did it this time. Inconvenience but I was happy to have it back. He was much nicer with this interaction. I was also happy to find that they have popcorn available for free.I had friends warned me that this place was not good, and I think I agree that I would not go back. Really miss the Bywater.

Fun stop for a drink. Huge variety of locals there, from bikers to a wedding party.

Great local spot with cold cheap beer right on the river. If my wife and I lived in Asheville this would definitely be one of our hangout spots.
