Recieved two small black hairs with my meal, one on each plate. Very chipped plastic water glasses... had a piece of plastic in my sip. Guess you have to use straws here. Food is average diner food - nothing special.

The service was friendly and prompt.

Good food,
Kamikaze cock roaches.
One fell in my food and they still charged me full price.
I'll never be back.

My husband and I as well as our best friend went to Asheville NC to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary on June 20, 2024. We wanted to eat at a nice and relaxing restaurant. The Hungry Bear ? Cafe had excellent food, friendly service, and a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you for treating us so well. Our prayers and love with you all during this time. We want to eat at The Hungry Bear ? Cafe soon. Many Blessings!!! ?❤️

We went by the Biltmore Mansion on a family road trip and needed to find a place for lunch. The immediate town was crazy busy so we headed back out to the highway. Stopped at Hungry Bear Cafe, just down the road, because it wasn’t a chain, was close to the highway, and sounded like me at the time (haha). Very small diner with about eight to ten four top tables. Maybe less. It was small. But the menu was extensive (see it online) and even though it was 1:30 pm they gave my wife a breakfast choice, which made her and everyone happy. Sandwich choices were hefty and extensive. This was not “health food” but it was surely tasty and satisfying. Recommend highly if you’re in the area and want a quick family diner meal.
