My husband and I as well as our best friend went to Asheville NC to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary on June 20, 2024. We wanted to eat at a nice and relaxing restaurant. The Hungry Bear ? Cafe had excellent food, friendly service, and a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you for treating us so well. Our prayers and love with you all during this time. We want to eat at The Hungry Bear ? Salt-of -the-Earth, locally owned, down-home breakfast & lunch diner. If you’re looking for uptown & trendy, look elsewhere. There are plenty of folks waiting for that table. If you like true Southern grub, this place might be for you. I generally recommend this restaurant for breakfast, which is served until 11 am, but I had lunch today, only because it was too late for the excellent breakfast menu. A HIDDEN GEM!! And the best bang for your buck for lunch in this area. Love that the hours are only 6 Am-2 Pm on weekdays, so you know it is a spot for locals!! Thank you for that. And thank you for amazing prices.I have been working in the Candler area for 7 years and I am so regretful that I just tried the Hungry Bear Cafe for the first time. If I could review myself, I would give myself 1 star for being such an idiot for missing out on amazing burgers for lunch for all this...
