Went to The Lobster Trap for dinner while in town. It was absolutely delicious. The seafood was fresh and prepared to perfection. Service was great. Atmosphere was lovely, classical guitar, excellent. Parking across street made it extremely easy to access. Highly recommend!
Poor service. When you spend the kind of money this place charges, you expect not just great food. You expect at least average type service. The food was average (arrived cold because the waiter—we sat at the bar—“forgot” to pick it up… oyster arrived without condiments, and we were half way through them because he took his time doing other chores). There were so many other elements of the dinning experience that this server simply didn’t care about that it left us with the conclusion not to come back again.
Was so happy we stopped in this time cause we couldn't get in 2020. Service top in class and Jordan was amazing behind the bar. We decided to do the trick tower seafood tower and well worth the money despite other reviews on it. Never thought I would go the the mans and order seafood but it was like we were on the coast. We can not wait to go back and enjoy more of the menu. Great atmosphere and like I said staff was amazing. 🥰
Top in class and so glad we made it back from 20' when we couldn't get in from C19. Sat at the bar with Jordan behind and immediately knew we were in good company. We have wanted to try this place for the seafood reviews and menu items though being 5 hours from the coast and us living in SC. We waffled the tower from the sticker price but really when you break it down for 2 people its actually very reasonable for the food you get. Let me tell you that we did the triple tower and it was not only beautiful in presentation but just as fresh and good when we crushed it down to just ice and empty dipping sauces. Staff was the best as anyone that walked by acknowledged us w a smile, you can see happy employees vs. fake smiles. If you are reading this walk in and enjoy amazing seafood on the side of a man. Tnx Jordan
This place is awesome! My husband and I both had the lobster rolls and they were delicious! Service was perfect and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. We would definitely return. Thanks for a great experience.
Over priced and tacky. They have servers who wear work out pants and stained t shirts selling $100/person dinners.
Great spot for dinner with friends. Excellent seafood - hubby and I shared the Lobster Bake for 2 and couldn't even finish it all! Brandon was an excellent and attentive server. Would definitely recommend 👍
Our waitress was great! Food was good but super pricy .... but nice place overall

Have been a customer for 10 years and always pleased. No longer. Had dinner in March 2025. Oyster special price doubled within last couple of months! Caesar salad now $14 and not large enough to share anymore. Paid $20 for 3 tiny scallops. Small crowd there for dinner. Gee I wonder why.

My wife and I decided to give The Lobster Trap a try for a rare date night after hearing nothing but good reviews - unfortunately our experience was pretty terrible. Our reservations were for 7:45, and we were seated at a 2-top booth near the bar. There was a little Jazz trio playing in the corner that sounded great.
Initially it seemed to take a while before anyone checked in on us, and when they did, it took forever to get our initial drinks. When our server did check with us, there was no real interaction, they asked no questions, and had no advice to give on menu items. After ordering one of the largest items on the menu (seafood tower), the entire time we waited on our food, not one check-in from our server. We did notice that our server was actually the bartender, so the lack of service started making sense. My wife politely mentioned to the hostess that we could use another round of drinks, our food and drinks came out immediately, then nothing else. Neither the hostess or our server/bartender checked back with us until our meal was finished. When our food arrives, it was decent, the oysters and clams were good, the crab legs were decent, but the "stone crab claws" were chewy and pretty much un-edible. We ended up leaving hungry and went to Jack of the Wood for apps and another round of drinks. Ultimately this was a real let-down and I seriously doubt we'd ever give it another shot based on that visit.

We enjoyed a nice evening with friends at Lobster Trap recently. It was a Sunday night so the place was almost empty and service was lacking, had to ask for water refills, drinks, napkins and extra butter, but the food was really good. We had the stuffed mushrooms, and the 2 specials, lobster thermidor and halibut pomme croute. While you expect greatness from the prices, they delivered.

Service was outstanding. Love the laid back vibe. food. I had the crab cakes which had VERY LITTLE filler and packed a BIG punch. Highly recommend.

Extremely accommodating and friendly staff! We had a large party and they did separate checks without hesitation and with precision. Food came out in a timely manner! Everyone really enjoyed themselves throughly!
I Ordered Lobster Thermador and it was lousy, 3 little bites of Lobster and it was tough and chewy, not fresh whatsoever.
The puff pastry was undercooked. For $49.00 this dish is a slap in the face and nothing more than simply gouging customers.
You ought to be ashamed of yourselfs for serving this paltry dish for $49.00
