Great little craft cocktail bar with a few snacks to go with. They didn't have it on the menu, but their bartender made me the best classic 1944 Mai Tai I've ever had. Definitely recommend for small parties or a date night stop.

Male bartender with the brown hair on 9/19/24 at 6:30pm was rude when I asked a question about how to order (we sat outside and no one greeted us or explained to us if we wait on them to or go to the bar). So when I asked he was cold and rude in response. Overall meh experience. Great cocktails. But the atmosphere was not it

Went on a Monday evening. Up the stairs into a quaint bar. "Mondays with Rob." Rob, the bartender, was fantastic, with great recommendations and spirits knowledge. I got a rickey with strawberry and basil and my friend got the sunset as our 1st round. They were both great, complex but with complimentary flavors. Sat outside for a bit then went back to order our 2nd round, the philly punch bowl and the southern charm. Also great Cocktails. Good flowing conversation from the bartender Rob and the other patrons inside, and it was a great experience. We will be back again!

Recently I had the pleasure to visit Top of the Monk twice last week, while in Asheville. It is truly my favorite spot in all of Asheville for a thirsty traveler. I rarely visit a bar where if ask the bartender to make me something and surprise me. I do that with confidence as I have never been disappointed with any aspect of my visits to Top of the Monk!
Blake knows my palate and always makes me pleased I chose to come by for a cocktail.
My favorite is the Brooklyn Cocktail!
I have never left unhappy!

Our whim experience here was amazing! Starting with our bartender Pala who was awesome! So knowledgeable and clearly knows her stuff. She made us the most delicious drinks and was so easy going and friendly to talk to. The bar is a pre-prohibition bar so everything is homemade, including the bitters and juices and mixers. It was the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif before dinner!
Top notch cocktails. Bartender was polite and we had great service. We had the strawberry basil drink and an old fashioned.

The tall(ish) bartender with dark hair was exceptionally rude. Treated us like garbage because we couldn't hear his mumbles over the loud music; complete with eye rolls, head shakes, and rude comments to his coworkers about us. We ordered and paid for drinks with one person, only for him to ask what we ordered so he could make them. Seriously? Poor communication from the staff on that one. This guy definitely doesn't belong in the service industry with that attitude. I initially thought, "Maybe he's having a bad day," but the numerous reviews singling him out suggest otherwise.

We went in last weekend for a drink post dinner. We hadn't been to Ashville in about 5 years and realized we had been here before. The bartender with the pony tail was extremely arrogant and condescending. Will never recommend this place to anyone.
