Good food but the service has gone to hell. Not enough workers and space for the amount of customers you seat & waited over an hour to put a food order in before giving up and leaving. Saw other waiters taking orders from tables that got there 20 mins later than us... Not sure what's going on. Never had such a bad time there. Drinks are incredibly overpriced too

Unfortunately Idle hour’s service and food were a disappointment. We chose idle because it is a dog friendly restaurant in a nice area right by the beach. The outside seating is inviting with the fire pits , sand and live music. I ordered the mahi tacos , they lacked flavor. I’ve had better seafood inland North Carolina which I think is odd. My friend ordered the shrimp burger, we were expecting a patty but it came with actual pieces of fried shrimp and they were ok. My sister ordered the chicken sandwich but they didn’t have the chicken to make it so she got wings instead. We had to remind the waitress of the drinks we ordered and I got handed the wrong drink once. The waitresses were not very organized. I also got a margarita that wasn’t good . When we received our digital bill I made sure to ask if the chicken switch was adjusted and I was told it was so I paid. However it wasn’t until I insisted on getting my receipt was it discovered I was charged for the chicken sandwich as well as the wings. The waitress corrected it. I’m disappointed in the service most of all. I would not return.

A fun place to enjoy a beer; we didn't eat here. Sat outside, right in the sand- literally on the beach. Great service and selection of beers. Bartender was efficient & friendly. Plenty of parking & easy location.

We ordered our food at 1:44, but didn’t get it until after 2:40. I suspect that we only got it because we asked where or food was. We saw a number of groups come in after we had our second beer, and then get their food before we did. We were a party of two and we had ordered a shrimp basket. The staff apologized but didn’t own the error that they forgot our food or try to make it right in any way. The shrimp basket hardly had any shrimp and didn’t taste all that great.

Went for fish tacos but they were out of fish. The bartender highly recommended the chicken sandwich so I ordered it. If you know what a real chicken sandwich is, do not expect one from this place. It was 2 frozen tenders on a bun. Edible but fake. I was super hungry so I ate it anyway. This was a disappointing experience.

In town for a few days, picked up Mahi-Mahi and Shrimp Tacos as dinner to go. Fantastic falls short of how good these truly are. Best fish tacos I’ve had. Jalapeno crema is not overdone, just enough. Fish grilled perfect, shrimp grilled perfectly. Fresh onion relish. Also grabbed some chili for lunch the next day Solid, meaty, great flavor. And a huge bonus (for me at least) Paulaner Hefe on TAP!!!

I'm not sure what is German inspired about this restaurant or its menu but it is just another beach bar with a mediocre food menu and just ok beer on tap. Very, very small interior and the beach outdoor area is over crowded with picnic tables so much so that you can barely move. Add the kids, strollers, and dogs and it is crazy crowded. Nothing special here. I'd pass.

I had the house burger and fries. It was delicious and the service was very good. I recommend going and giving it a try.
I'm a mixed young woman I serve in the military and the atmosphere is nice outside but I was given the worst food ever! I didn't eat it I left! They looked at me in disgust and treated me like I don't serve the country. I wasn't in uniform but my skin is darker than theirs. If you have fair tone skin you'll blend right in. Racism is very common in this area. I can't wait until my orders are done here! I will never return! Don't waste your money.

Great Friday night experience. Fun music, great outdoor atmosphere. French fries were some of the best I have ever had! Pickle chips - delicious, blackened shrimp tacos - delicious. I would highly recommend this place - we really enjoyed it!

The outside garden is nice even if it’s simple. It is just some picnic tables on sand with a few palms and umbrellas helping block a little sun. The shrimp basket was very good. The shrimp was the good part. The fries came out like they fry and let them sit so they sucked. The Cure burger had perfect bacon, nice runny egg, no jalapeños in sight and a well over cooked patty. I felt I should have sent that back since it was so dry.
