Owner is super friendly and helpful. We got the seafood boil for 2 and it was so easy to prepare. And DELICIOUS!! Best boil ever can’t wait to come back on our next vacation.

Just want to say how friendly and helpful the woman that works there is (sorry I'm terrible at remembering names). We went in twice during our trip, everything we purchased was fresh and cooked up very nice. I definitely know where to go on our next trip for fresh seafood. Thanks for great service and conversation while we were there.

I visited the OBX with my family about 2 weeks ago. I grew up eating blue crab often so have a special place for it in my heart. But my young kids have never tried it (it’s not in season very long in Ontario) and my husband is allergic to shellfish. I read all the reviews on here before going to the OBX and was excited to give their dozen Jimmy’s a try! HOLY HELL - the did NOT disappoint! I walked in and ordered for pickup later that day. The front staff was super friendly and helpful - and he could feel my excitement for the crab. I told him to spice em up the way he would love them to eat them. I came back at my pickup time. The front staff chatted up my kids, told them all about crab fishing, and then listened to my 5yo explain Minecraft. I took the crabs home and these guys were HUGE! Their meat was super sweet and the spice they put on the outside complimented it so well! I would highly recommend you give these guys a try! I’m already planning my next vacation just to go back!

Fast friendly service.Had them steam a whole bunch of Snow Crab & shrimp for us.It all tasted fantastic. Worth every penny .Next time we are in town we'll definitely be back.

The man behind the counter was friendly, approachable, and so knowledgeable about the types of fish and the amount we would need. We bought grouper and snapper, and it was so fresh and tasty! Highly recommend this fresh seafood shop.

I just wanted to send a shout out to the owners and team at Surf's Up for making our OBX meals so amazing- we bought a clam pot that they prepared ( clam, snow crab legs, shrimp, corn and red potatoes) one night and several crab cakes that turned out amazing. Everyone was saying how great it was and they were impressed with my skills! I do cook a lot, but even if you do not, they make it fool proof- I cannot recommend enough how perfect that turned out- and I could have a glass of wine and socialize while it steamed and not stress over a meal while on vacation. So easy! They also recommended some black tip shark the night before, I was a little hesitant, but the owner told me exactly how to season and cook it for our Fish tacos...and everyone loved it- did not taste fishy at all. Such a great place and they obviously know and love what they do. This will be one of our go-to places when I am in OBX going forward. Thanks!

Love going to Surf’s Up Seafood Market in Avon every year ! This year was excellent as I got to mark off my bucket list a fresh Kinnakeet oyster !!
John was super nice and showed me how to shuck the oyster and it was delicious!!!! What a treat . As always the blue crabs are perfect and they have a wide selection of seafoods and stuff to choose from . A one stop shop with great folks to chat with. Can’t wait till next year … thanks !!!!

We usually buy live blue crabs from Surfs Up but we didn’t bring our crab pots to the beach this year. Instead we ordered them already steamed. They were cooked PERFECTLY and wonderfully seasoned. We also picked up oysters and shrimp to prepare ourselves. Their seafood is always fresh, fairly priced, and they have all the accoutrements you need in store. Grateful to have these guys down the road from Rodanthe!

These guys did a fantastic job! We had plenty of food. Really good low country boil! The service was great. They answered all of our questions. Will definitely go back next time we visit the Outer Banks.
