“I’ve been coming there every year since they were a smaller shop. This was the first year I was dissatisfied. My husband can’t stomach pickles, they put them on his sandwich after he asked them not to, the receipt showed the request. However when it came it had pickles. I sent it back, I know 100% they just took them off and gave it back within 3 minutes, so I complained and requested a new sandwich. They acted like they were mad at ME?! Excuse me, please do better. Sincerely a devoted customer, who will be back because the owner deserves another chance.”

“We had their pizza one night and it was amazing. We returned the following night and ate in. Ceasar salad, Italian sub, fettuccine Alfredo, ham and cheese sub and fries were amazing too. Their prices are great too. My only complaint would be they close at 8:30 PM, but that is the normal for the area.”

“This place is amazing! We stayed in Hatteras and this quickly became a daily stop for us. They have excellent lattes and they also have smoothies and local art for purchase too. Sometimes the wait to get coffee was long but the taste was always worth it. We ended up going 5 times before we left. My favorite latte I tried was the wired monkey!”

“Got the Chicago dog with sweet potato fries, husband got a burger. Everything was delicious. Sweet potato fries had a cinnamon sugar dusting that made them amazing. Staff was very attentive and went above and beyond with my picky kids. Definitely recommend!”

“The young man working all alone tonight was amazing. I didn’t get his name, but dark hair and foreign accent. There were probably 20 people in line when we arrived. He served each of them efficiently and with a smile. When we were up to order, the owner decided to show up and take over. Fine, except that when he did, he started berating the young employee for “getting into this situation”. The only situation was the fact that he was left alone with a large volume of customers. We were really turned off by the owner’s behavior.”

“What an awesome place! Highly recommended. We now have a local bar that we will be visiting everytime we are in Frisco. While on the ride down from VA I called around looking for karaoke and found Howard's. They don't normally do karaoke on the night we arrived, but he was more than happy to get it going for me and some of the locals to enjoy. My husband and I had such a blast! The staff are on point and the people and atmosphere where amazing! We are so happy to have discovered this spot in Avon! Thank you Howard's for a great night, we will see you again soon!”

“Stopped here for a quick dinner and were impressed by the taste of the food and the cleanliness of the place. We have eaten at the Chinese restaurants in Nags Head and KDH, and this place had better General Tso chicken and egg rolls. Crab Rangoon was pretty good too.”

“Ate there on my birthday. May 22. Food was great. I had the sheepshead and my husband had the oysters. Chloe, our waitress was wonderful. She treated us to a bowl of the famous chowder and chocolate cake. We loved it so much until we stopped on the way to the ferry and bought some frozen. Everything we ate was perfect..”

“We had lunch here and it was DELISH. I had the blackened fish tacos (mahi mahi was the fish of the day) and our 11 year old had the Old Bay seasoned fish tacos. We both loved them, and it was a ton of food. So fresh and so delicious! My husband and our 15 year old had the crabby patty sandwich and they both devoured them and were very happy with their meals. Our 13 year old had the crabby patty wrap and liked it, and our 9 year old had the chicken nuggets kids meal and liked that too. The service was great and the atmosphere was cheerful, laid back, and vibrant. Highly recommend this place for lunch. You won’t be disappointed!”

“The only way you can go wrong here is by not stopping by and buying one of the best treats on the island. We love this place. It is a must for us when we are on vacation in Hatteras. The owner is the sweetest and its a bonus to spend sometime with her.”
