“Our favorite lunch spot since we began vacationing in the Outer Banks around a decade ago! The food is always consistent(ly amazing), the staff is super friendly and attentive and you never are in need of something. Decor is super funky and there is no shortage of things to look at! We love the fish tacos, shrimp and corn chowder, and the house-made tuna salad! We try to get there early as this places gets PACKED as the shift goes on, especially as more families head off the beaches to look for food. But if you do have to wait for a table, it is super worth it!!!!”

“These are the best Apple fritters (if you can even call them that) on the planet and I’ll fight you on it. They’re as dense as a bowling ball and they’re filled with what tastes like granny’s homemade apple pie filling. If it was all they sold, they’d be worth of 5 stars. But everything else is great too. If you’re anywhere on the Outer Banks, this place is worth the trip.”

“My large family and I visited the Cockeyed Clam during our holiday stay at the Outer Banks. There were 18 of us including 2 young children. We were quickly accommodated despite the size of our group. The waitstaff was excellent. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken almost immediately. Appetizers ordered included flash fried Brussel sprouts, oysters, and shrimp. They were all delicious. I especially enjoyed the brussell sprouts. They were cooked to perfection, not greasy at all, served on a delicious bed of shredded cabbage and carrots and served with a super yummy dressing. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was hot when we got it. Everyone loved their entrees. I am not a seafood lover so I ordered the Tuscan Chicken on pasta- it was creamy, flavorful, the chicken was tender and moist and the portion was generous. Enough that it made a fabulous lunch for the next day. Many of us ordered the specialty cocktail, so yummy that many were ordered! We will definitely be returning on our next visit to the area.”

“This place had the best taco we might have ever had!!! We had the fish tacos and lengua tacos! The flavor was amazing! Best lengua taco I think I have ever had and I'm from southern Texas (and we make some pretty amazing tacos)! It's a small place but WOW!”

“We hit them up at least once a week. There is always a friendly face behind the counter. Prices are very fair and the coffee products are awesome. I have tried 20 different drinks there.”

“What a great hidden gem. From the outside it looks like a dive but on the inside you will find great food. My buddy says the best hamburger he ever had. Me, I get the fish sandwich of the day. Reasonable prices and great drinks. Don't pass Pops up.”

“Having a crab boil at our wedding was so fun and one of the many highlights of the night! Everyone commented on how delicious the food was and OBX Boil was not only super responsive, but very flexible with the changes I asked to make during the planning process. There was one mix up with the vegetarian boil and they were so kind to try to fix it on the spot just to make sure everybody was happy. I would use OBX Boil again and again for our catering needs.”

“Fantastic food! Loved it so much we went back for more & will again. In a couple of visits I had the French dip (best I’ve EVER had!!), waffle fries, nachbros & cowboy burger. All were delicious. Wife had the Philly cheese & the blue cheese burger & also loved both. So glad we found this place in Avon.Parking: Plenty of parking. Shares lot with a grocery store.”

“Emme and I used Kats Deli to cater our wedding reception on the Mrs Hatteras boat (also amazing). They did a great job making the food easy to eat on the boat, and it was fantastic even after having to wait a bit due to some timing complications. We got a mix of a lot of sandwiches, but I will say for our group The Charlie was the group favorite, though the Jurassic pork was close behind for me. We plan to make Hatteras a regular trip at this point and I can guarantee we will be stopping by Kats when we get the chance again.”
