“We stopped at Frisco Bay Coastal Grill before heading home and wow was the food absolutely fantastic!! We had the fish bites, duck poutine, steamed shrimp, and pizza Mexicana. This was one of the BEST meals we've had on the island. will absolutely return frequently when vacationing in Hatteras!!”

“The best food on Hatteras Island. The seafood was perfectly prepared and the best hushpuppies ever. They have perfected handling of short staffing. Ordering at the register allows the lone server the ability to get food out as fast as it's prepared. The cashier/bartender was wearing many hats and helping with drink refills. I highly recommend, it is worth any wait.”

“I’m a PIZZA SNOB ~ From FL to NY/CHICAGO and every pizza from here to CA THE BEST. If it wasn’t near closing time ~ I would have gone back for another. We order thick crust ~ perfection, sauce ~ this in my opinion wasn’t out of a can, quality cheese, not greasy. Usually there’s a few slices whereever I’ve ordered (friends/family) we fought over the last piece dividing it up. As a former caterer, and family tradition I’m known for my homemade from scratch Cream Puffs/“Eclairs” and the “Eclairs” are HUGE !! I’ll happily admit ~ just as good … if not BETTER ! Thank goodness I was only visiting my son, I’d go broke and weigh 600#’s. I will delay my drive out so I’m able to get pizza & Eclairs. I ordered to go ~ so I can’t comment on atmosphere ~ that said the staff was polite, attentive, sweet as the Eclairs.”

“Buxton Munch isn't just a great place for lunch, it's a great experience! The food is delicious, well presented, and plenty of it. The service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is comfortable and it makes you feel like you belong there. The cost is reasonable and well worth what you get. We always look forward to lunch at Buxton Munch whenever we are staying on Hatteras Island.”

“Having a crab boil at our wedding was so fun and one of the many highlights of the night! Everyone commented on how delicious the food was and OBX Boil was not only super responsive, but very flexible with the changes I asked to make during the planning process. There was one mix up with the vegetarian boil and they were so kind to try to fix it on the spot just to make sure everybody was happy. I would use OBX Boil again and again for our catering needs.”

“These are the best Apple fritters (if you can even call them that) on the planet and I’ll fight you on it. They’re as dense as a bowling ball and they’re filled with what tastes like granny’s homemade apple pie filling. If it was all they sold, they’d be worth of 5 stars. But everything else is great too. If you’re anywhere on the Outer Banks, this place is worth the trip.”

“My large family and I visited the Cockeyed Clam during our holiday stay at the Outer Banks. There were 18 of us including 2 young children. We were quickly accommodated despite the size of our group. The waitstaff was excellent. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken almost immediately. Appetizers ordered included flash fried Brussel sprouts, oysters, and shrimp. They were all delicious. I especially enjoyed the brussell sprouts. They were cooked to perfection, not greasy at all, served on a delicious bed of shredded cabbage and carrots and served with a super yummy dressing. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was hot when we got it. Everyone loved their entrees. I am not a seafood lover so I ordered the Tuscan Chicken on pasta- it was creamy, flavorful, the chicken was tender and moist and the portion was generous. Enough that it made a fabulous lunch for the next day. Many of us ordered the specialty cocktail, so yummy that many were ordered! We will definitely be returning on our next visit to the area.”

“This place had the best taco we might have ever had!!! We had the fish tacos and lengua tacos! The flavor was amazing! Best lengua taco I think I have ever had and I'm from southern Texas (and we make some pretty amazing tacos)! It's a small place but WOW!”

“We hit them up at least once a week. There is always a friendly face behind the counter. Prices are very fair and the coffee products are awesome. I have tried 20 different drinks there.”

“Emme and I used Kats Deli to cater our wedding reception on the Mrs Hatteras boat (also amazing). They did a great job making the food easy to eat on the boat, and it was fantastic even after having to wait a bit due to some timing complications. We got a mix of a lot of sandwiches, but I will say for our group The Charlie was the group favorite, though the Jurassic pork was close behind for me. We plan to make Hatteras a regular trip at this point and I can guarantee we will be stopping by Kats when we get the chance again.”

Wife had the Philly cheese & the blue cheese burger & also loved both. So glad we found this place in Avon.Parking: Plenty of parking. Shares lot with a grocery store.”
